-Congrats to bunch of other fams which were also shooting - but did not get full information on which fams were involved, but it seems pretty much all of them took part.

Prepare for a long unncecessary rant. But just to clear a few things up and give the hated people a positive cheer I will tell the whole story how the family came to be. :)
I had no family to play for this version and had a really shitty account. I bought a spot for myself and named it Merciless just for the fun of it, never meant to be serous. Why Merciless? Well it was the first family I played with after my long break, also the only family so far that has felt like "my family". I did not expect to survive many hours. I thought Pentagram or someone else who do not like the name Merciless very much would kill me right away. But no one shot me dead. A few people join in the following days, low ranks.
McGee asked if he could get an invite, so I invited him. I did not know him from before, except from OMB/ingame forums where he is a known troller, but he came on irc and we got to talk. He turned out to be a really nice guy. After a while he asked if I wanted to make a real family (as real it can be this late into the version) with no cheating and pacting. I hesitated a little at first. What really could we bring to the table, who would join etc. But why the heck not I thought and said sure.
After some discuassions McGee brought Raja into the discuassion. I did not know Raja from before. Only been reading his articles and comments here. Got to know him a little during our brief time playing together and he seems to be a nice guy. We spoke to Raja about the whole thing and he came on board.
The name was changed to Relentless because it was not Merciless, e.g. no tops from Merci were in the family. It turs out Relentless is an old .nl family but we did not know that at the time.
I have no experience of running a family or being top so Raja was made Don. Both Raja and McGee have some contacts in the game and a few people joined us, among them re-ranks from Natarelli and other dead families. Tao was one of them, also a guy I did not know from before but got to know a little and also he seems to be a nice guy (you see the pattern here, I don't know many people in the game :P). Tao joined as a top from Natarelli to have someone represent them, to get more experience and someone who know people.
Over the following days a few people asked if they could join. Mostly low ranks or re-rankers. Some I guess chose us randomly, others said they wanted to join because they want a small friendly family or a non-pact family.
So that's how the family came to be. It was McGees idea from the start. Blame him. :)
I belive most people enjoyed the brief stay in the family. There were nice discuassions in the members channel. I never saw a fight even tho there were talks about everything from politics to sports to Omerta history to real life jobs etc. Disagreements but not angry swearing or personal attacks. It was nice to see. And we shared the same value. Don't want to be part of a big pact. Rather play for ourselves.
I do not belive in blooding. It ruins the game. Every family should play for themselves. Obviously you can't do everything yourself but if you help someone out it should benefit your own family. You should not help just cuz you are bloods.
It is not possible to like every person you meet. There are people playing the game I do not like but I try to avoid them as much as possible. So I can understand there are people out there who do not like everyone in Relentless. What I do not understand tho is the hate. But it is the internet after all. If it was out in the real world I guess people would be more "human-like" toward each other. Personally I found everyone in the family to be nice people and there were respect towards each other.
So was this a real family? Well it depends what you mean with "real family". It was real in the sence that we had all the elements of a real family. But did we expect to win or be a big chess piece in this round of the game? No, we are not stupid. It was mostly re-ranks and a few quite weak original accounts getting together for fun. Obviously tho, we had hoped to do more damage than the none we did now.
We were asking around before the slaughter but I guess logs were leaked since almost everyone shot us? Shit happens.
A funny thing is that half an hour or perhaps a little less before the shooting started I got a pm from a top in one of the attacking families telling me that we are going to get shot. Well he did not use those words but that was the message. Hired then but it was too late to do any damage.
No regrets.
Dunno if I will play again since I think the game is so shit now. But who knows, if you see a lonesome rider in some future version go up alone with some noob family feel free to say hi. Big chance it is me. :P
