Latley certain elements of the irc crew have struck down on trading money/dc's/hp's etc. between versions by closing down channels and claiming it to be illegal.

I have been asking around, and none of the ones I asked could tell me that this was infact illegal.

What do you think about this? With a shrinking playerbase trading between versions will generate extra accounts on each version, and it gives players a fine opportunity to generate a bit of extra cash.

Apperently trading money is not illegal, but having channels for it is not legal.

[20:09:10] <04!R> trading isnt forbidden
[20:09:14] <04!R> just trade channels are
[20:09:22] <04!R> so I will close whole trade channels I see
[20:09:25] <04!R> thats it

[20:06:31] <04!R> that those trade channels are raising the number of scammers
[20:06:42] <04!R> and omerta management doesnt want more scammers around

So instead of having channels with trusted people, where scammers would get banned and get A-kicked, one must now pm random people hoping they will not scam you.

The logic of the omerta crew...

I just think you're really bored if you're laundering monopoly money between two different website games.

I think you're really bored if you always complain how bad a game is yet you keep playing it. You must me a miserable guy.
'Exchanging monopoly money between versions' is what needs to be done to be able to somewhat compete to the amount of hax that other families have, eventhough of course they do it too.

I just have fun trolling retards here. Everyone knows I only look for negative attention.
I'm having a lot of fun in the game, I met an awesome family called Peaky Blinders.

I think money trading accounts are just dupes stripped of their ability to shoot on .com. You use 2 accounts to generate money for your 1 .com account. Like moon said, he had trading accounts on 7 versions (if he'd had 2 on each version that would mean he'd have 14 accounts to generate his monry), it doesn't really give an equal playground for John doe that just wants to play his .com version.

The game isn't supposed to be a 'who can have most money mules on other versions' competition

Should be, but it isn't, and you can see a few eople disagree with it.

I thought that trading was indeed forbidden, but nobody really cared to enforce it. I've seen irc bans in the past for it, but that's about it.

Reason why it should be illegal, you are creating cash for a specific version out of thin air, the only difference between trading and duping to make cash is, that somebody else runs the "dupe".

That the crew starts to enforce this rule now is something between hilarious and pathetic. It would have made sense, while there were still other active versions, as other versions probably die at least as fast as .com, well why even bother now?

Nowhere found does it stand that trading is not allowed.

You may not:
(1) Register more than one active account per person.
(2) exploit any bugs in the game code or the structure of the game for the furtherment of you character in Omerta.
(3) Hack or attempt to hack or otherwise interfere with the server(s) on which Omerta is running
(4) Use any tools, bots, spiders or similar software based devices which automatically or semi-automatically engage in gameplay in Omerta.
(5) Engage in discriminate of any kind against other players or personnel of Omerta or engage in threatening behaviour outside of what would be deemed acceptable gameplay

1 says duping is not allowed, 2 says bugging is not allowed, 3 says hacking is not allowed, 4 says scripting is not allowed and 5 says beeing a fucking asshole is not allowed. Nowhere does it stand anything about trading.

Buut, they can ofcourse throw in rule 10 into the cakemix.

(10) Appointed in game crewmembers may delete, inactivate or downgrade your account without recourse to complaint by yourself and excluding any duty to justify such actions.

Dictator style. As known from before the crew can akill you, punish you or just ban you without any proof or justice. But luckely most of the crew is professional enough to not do that, and I thank them for that.

Can you sell bullets from one version to another?
No.
Can you a DC you bought on obay use on another version?
No.

So why would you be allowed to transfer cash (it basically is nothing more) from one version to another?

Like I said, I can see the logic why it probably is not "legal".

But the game is broken on so many levels, so them singling out this as the one thing they will enforce looks ridiculous.

Can you a DC you bought on obay use on another version?

False. A dc bought with phone/paypal by a .nl player can be sold to a .com player and he can use it at .com or any other version as he pleases. The .com player would ofcourse pay the .nl player with .nl money.
Hell, this was infact a pretty bad example by you, as a DC bought on obay can't even be used by anyone else than the account that bought it.

Ofcourse you cannot transfer bullets (infact you actually can by bidding on eachothers bullets on their servers and then sending the money back when the auction is over) because bullets cant be sent to eachother like money and hps.

And yet again, I see nothing in the rules that say "trading between versons is not legal".

Read again, I explicitly spoke of DCS BOUGHT ON OBAY. Not bought by paypal or phone. Where you put your RL money, is really not their cup of tea. Ofc, there's a gigantic loophole for DC buyers, if they buy first hand DCs (direct from somebody who has spent RL cash on it).

Boy, your reaeding comprehension seems to be a bit impaired. Or you were really desparate trying to get that point in.

The obay point has a reason, which directly conflicts with the reset timings of versions, buying DC on Obay on .COM after money is not a big factor and use it into a just-reset version gives "big fams" on other versions a big advantage, same applies the other way around, on smaller versions people could abuse it on COM. That has a reason as we can't control the inflation price of a "DC", 1 DC = 1 DC.

I altough, don't agree that money trading is a bad thing, people are smart enough to value the prices of it and the community overall can inflate/deflate the prices to trade. 1M = 100k (as an example).

i was probably one of the 1st entrepeneurs to do this mercantile activity i once played 7 versions to suport my .com bullets and after it they closed down on the dc trading beteween versions

imho the developers should partition the game for a while and then finally merge all versions into 1 single one and maybe leave .dm for those wanting something new

ofc this would mean people would have to pick versions knowing that eventually the gen.tk who rulled italy would have to face ,nl who rulled vegas and chicago .com with them trecity (baltimore philly and ny ) and finally whatevers left the .scandinavian french and .pt who would be granted detroit

it´s doable actually and would create room for families to grow properly before setting them free eventually on each other

Yet revange have found it necessary to close one trading channel not only once, but twice. It was opened by another OP'er who couldn't see the logic in this closing either, but she caught the scent of it and closed it again.

(22:04:12) <!revange> I am afraid but that kind of trading channels are not allowed
(22:04:18) <!revange> so I have to close this channel
(22:05:07) <~*****> and what's the point? we'll just open a new one with a weird name you guys can't find
(22:05:43) <!revange> you are too naive to think that there is an chance for you to make a channel that I wouldnt find
(22:06:21) <!revange> maybe I can check whole channels on IRC and still can find it
(22:06:45) <~*****> since when is it not allowed?
(22:07:01) <!revange> since 45 minutes and 53 seconds

The only rule in the irc rules that could have made trading illegal is the following:

*Dedicated to cheats designed to cause unfair advantage in Omerta.

But for that rule to come into power, trading would first have been illegal (akilling, punishing everyone who trade, not just throw a hissyfit and close 1 channel lol)

On the other hand, that rule should permanently close down Righelli, Vaffan and Lucchese's topchannels.
(I kid, I kid.)
