Have a seat kids, because I'm going to tell you a story about the old days of Omerta.
C'era una volta il Hull
Once upon a time, admins just ignored players and their "idiotic" opinions. They simply didn't ask of their opinions, nor did they act like they cared. Of course the players didn't like this attitude, but it was tolerable. The admins simply weren't giving any false hope, and thus the players didn't expect anything real of them either. It was like seeing a ship the players loved broke in half and sank, but the captain didn't promise the passengers the ship would flap out its wings and fly to heaven, instead of sinking.
But then, almost a year ago, at the start of 3.1, the Self-Appointed Dictator for Life, Brando, had somehow seen the lights. Omerta's policy on major issues changed drasticly, for example, they acknowledged that resets are needed for the game, and he promised to listen to players. He even hired a new crew member, Shazam, to listen to all the players and combine their opinions for future policies. More vote of the day's were created. A special Facebook page was made to discuss things through comments with players.
Even though most people are against that last point, the usage of Facebook, because it excludes a major part of the players for discussion, there were clear signs Omerta, and more specifically, the attitude of the admins, were about to change. Players got hope again that admins would listen to them for the first time since 2.4, although of course this required well funded feedback, and most people were a bit happier than before because something was actually happening again.
Footmen? Servants? Lackeys!
As a part of their new found policy against scripters, or at least trying to show they actually were trying to deal with scripters (which is worth a whole article on itself), they introduced lackeys. Enough has been said about this subject already, and most know the pros and cons about them. You can like them or hate them, but fact is more accounts were created and there has almost never been so many highranks in the game since years.
One of the lackeys was a guy named Sluggs. He would do the buying of bullets for you, so with him introduced, nobody needed to do anything any more, except logging in and shoot. He was first tested and introduced on .dm, but because many players were complaining about the downsides of Sluggs, the admins decided to ask the opinions of the players once more.
And thus, this happened:
Pictures say more than a thousand words, so I decided to make screenshots!
Why should we give a fuck?
Clearly, the admins did not care one single bit about the players opinions. This would be no surprise if it was still 2.* or 3.0, but Brando had actually given us hope again... and he crushed it like he would do to bugs. Clearly, the admins only care about money, because, just like the other lackeys, Sluggs is an easy way to extract money from new players or players which don't have enough time. Not very surprisingly, the admins just want to continue the game on their road, on the road that gives them the most amount of money. It's understandable because they are a corporation, but once again they don't care about their customers, which could be a very bad decision in the long term. I've already heard of players who said they would retire if Sluggs was introduced on .com, and are now keeping their word. The fall of Omerta which started in 2.* continues on this way: real players are scared off, in favor of the mass of noobs which are more profitable for them.
The admins may become rich like this, but if the game only exists of brainless sheep which don't care they are being fucked with, what do they really have to show for?

According to Brando, the VOTD was 'faked' by 'cheaters'. My question to that was: 'why would cheaters say No to a bullet lackey ? Wouldnt they gain from it ?' But I did not get any answer to that.

I wonder why bother to make the VOTD in the first place? Id rather not be asked at all, then asked and ignored :P
And i also wonder how he knows what the "cheaters" voted. Lise Spy said, logic tells me they would have voted yes on that, not no. But they seem to have their own "logic", that in the end will bring the end of this wanna-be game.

Admins are completely disregarding the players' wishes for their own gain, money.
I was in #Help and asked why they were forcing a lackey on us that we did not want (roughly 2/3 of the game voted against this lackey, 63%). The answers I got were... surprising.
According to Brando, the VOTD was 'faked' by 'cheaters'. My question to that was: 'why would cheaters say No to a bullet lackey ? Wouldnt they gain from it ?' But I did not get any answer to that.
I also asked wether or not he would remove the lackey nowthat he saw how much the players were against this lackey. His answer to that was 'Yes I will, when scripts are stopped.'
Now, I know scripts are bad, and that people look down on them, but previous to lackeys this game used to be active. Even with scripts in it.
'Only' 20 to 30 % of the game was 'scripting', and currently 90 to 95 % of the game is using lackeys.
And lets face it, lackeys is just another name, for Omerta's own Rankscript (it does exactly the same, does it not ? Gain RP while you are gone, and now even gain bullets while you are gone, effectively killing the game because now the ENTIRE game is using a script (lackeys) and not just 20 to 30 %)
Then there was a question asked in #help before I was voiced, this question was: Howmany ppl were actively playing before, and after Lackeys.
Admins did not answer this question and said they 'simply dont know'.
They do, ofcourse they do, they monitor this closely at all times.
So let me tell you, roughly 1800 players logged in every week before lackeys and roughly 900 every week after. Not only this, but a large part of these 900 players who actually still logg in atleast once every week, only do so to put their lackeys on.
That's a 50 % drop of active players, and an even larger drop of players who are actually there a lot and playing manual.
Now, why does Omerta.ltd do this ?
Simple, DC sale went up by 250 % since the introduction of DC's so there's still revenue for Omerta.ltd.
Soon however they will lose 100 % of your players because the players are not listened to and when they are asked questions the answers are disregarded all the same.
Soon, there will be no revenue for Omerta.ltd.
What is the answer for this ?
That's right, bring in a lot of new players.
How will they do this ?
They will interface and/or advertise their site with/on Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter.
This means Omerta will basicly turn into Mafia Wars #2.
I for one have made my last account as long as this lackey is active,
I will not make a new one and/or spend money on this game.

Admins never cared the opinion of players, Brando already forgot that moment of inspiration he had...
Now he's back to the funny remarks and taking a dump on different opinions, those that are against his, even if well supported.
He never cared to get a group of experienced players going, players that actually had critical thinking, and knew their community... they made User Group which was a joke in terms of skill requirements, and even then, their "creation" they ignored.
Brando doesn't make a game for Omerta Community, he makes the game for himself and his 'imaginary' community... A community that doesn't love war often, one that loves a week long wars, one that thinks all this fam leveling crap is fun, that lackeys are good for the game, that KA is good as it is, and those who complain are whiners etc etc.

Let's stop any activity in Omerta...stop shooting, lackeys, ranking...we can make statement that way more louder. It will hurt their pockets... My goal now is to make trotters 100% non donating fam.

I had played World of Warcraft... Same shit happens in any MMORPG... They let real players, pros, to test and give thousands of hours of their real life to help them with the game, bugs, and shit like that... And then when they suck all of their blood and energy, they destroy them completely by making game EASY-FOR-NOOBS-TO-PLAY-SO-WE-CAN-HAVE-$$$... And then 92108320128 hours of someone's life is compared to 20-30$... Poor world, awful people, want to kill someone RL...

i agree game is dead, but its been dead long before lackeys were created. What is difference between manual and script accounts? Script accts were usually stronger.

I doubt scripted accs were stronger, they lacked way more bullets then a normal ranked acc (that is, if u actually bought bullets and not gamble ur money)
Still, with that Sluggs, might as pay an amount of money when you make the account. Depending on how much you pay, you get an assa, chief, brug, you can even choose the number of bullets you start with, and number of cars in your garage.
*Register in the next 3h and you get a cute brug account, with 300k bullets, a full garage and a trained guard dog, all for the modest sum of $10!!

Can't we just go back to 2.0 ? Oh wait, then there won't be any money for the admins! :')

well, i'm guessing if the players dont want sluggs as the vote showed, then sluggs will be a failure? Nah, i'm guessing a lot of people will use him and spend money for him, which is sorta like voting "yes" with your pocketbook.

My opinion: Omerta is getting less rankers version after version and the (Sluggs) Lackeys is like the finnishing shot. RIP Omerta imo, this game changed from a fun game (yea it was fun somewhere, before 2.8 orso) to a site (lets not call it a game anymore) like this. Where has the "Free to play RPG" status gone to?:')
Oh and one more thing; Just my opinion but I hope you admins get slammed in the head so you can see clearly again. 63% vote AGAINST Sluggs rite? ;> Oh and please, when ur slamming 'em, please abit harder at Brando's head please.
