Karmi: Firstly, I would like to thank you for your valuable time for this interview during your busy schedule… Most of Omerta players are experienced and will already know the answers to some of these questions. But to make it clear for the ones who don’t know or the ones that are misinformed, could you please clarify a couple of things for me? My first question will be about the ownership of Omerta. And we will take the interview up from there. We see a lot of comments around like “Righello bought the game” or “Kcode is the owner of the game”. Do you own Omerta?
Righello: You are mostly welcome… As an Omerta Admin and a person who is passionate about the game, it is always nice to keep in contact with the player base. I see these comments all the time too. The biggest problem is misunderstanding and lack of information to be honest. So let’s see if I can fix that. As a company, Omerta is currently in the middle of an ownership change. We expect to be done with the ownership change soon. It took a bit longer than expected. Within the new structure of Omerta, there will be no single owner. A company will take over. And no, I do not own the game. I am currently an Admin (Supervisor) of Omerta.
Karmi: Sometimes we see the player base posting comments at ingame chat, obn or Omerta Forum’s like “The game is dying”, “Omerta is dead already”, “Omerta servers will close soon and the game will come to an end”, “Even admins don’t care about the game because they are working on other projects” and the list goes on… What do you think about these comments?
Righello: Well, why would a company invest in Omerta if it was “dying”? This is a phase of change Omerta is going through. So Omerta is not dying, on the contrary, its reborning! And when these changes are completed, the player base will see that we will make significant changes and address all the remaining problems. Do they really say we don’t care about the game? It is the other way around to be honest! We care too much about Omerta. We are also aware that there weren’t a lot of changes lately regarding gameplay and we have received a lot of tickets about this matter. However, this is connected to the ownership change progress. Some things are not as easy and simple as people might think. But I can assure you that Omerta has a very bright future. I expect to see more changes and bugfixes coming as soon as the ownership situation is dealt with. And of course, the servers will keep running :)
Karmi: What do you think about the arguments of player base have decreasing significantly lately?
Righello: As you know, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, lockdowns happened all over the world. During this period, we saw a significant increase at players. After the lockdowns were lifted, the amount of players decreased a bit because of work, travel etc. However, every summer/holiday term, the decrease is the same… After people are done with their holidays, there will be an increase in numbers of players again. We keep tracks of the numbers every version and I am happy to see thousands of loyal Omerta players around every new version, along with new ones! When the mentioned changes happen in the company structure, we will be able to address all the issues and make the majority of the player base happy.
Karmi: Are you milking Omerta till’ it dies?
Righello: Hahaha! This is the funniest of them all. No of course not! People forget that I am an admin. I do not own the game. Actually I am a slave for players! And regarding the pay 2 win issue, I believe we made a clear statement to this by limiting bullet purchases from obay/24h But more changes are coming regarding that. Remaining issues will be fixed!
Karmi: When will the ownership change happen? When can we expect these changes to happen? Any closing remarks?
Righello: As soon as everything is fixed, I will be able to get more into depth related to the upcoming changes, plans etc. We will keep in contact… I would like to let the player base know that I am very excited! I and my colleagues treasure Omerta. It had been an important part of our lives for a long time now and will keep being that way. It was much better when the game ended at LC yeah. Like there were any tactics involved in the past 5 years. Blood more than half the game, kill enemies, start killing sidefams.

to be honest because of admin`s decisions(all of them not a single person) the game lost the popularity. just wanna say 2 of them not the all. first one plating. imagine you are don at one of the top families , and a stupid assa can take your table and you cant get it back. also in old times low ranks can lead and everyone is confident that they will get their money from oc and moc. if someone scams in oc probably he will die in 2 hour. and ofc early wars. with plating you nearly set the war date which fucks the all strategy.

Bloods in 2021 are usually remainders of old families inside one. It’s lame when your family consisted of 6 different families which stood on their own back in the day just to blood three other families with 15 other bloods inside them who were once families back in the day.
I don’t come here to talk shit to these family leaders I never have but if you’re a Pleb in a 60 brug family that relies on families the same size to help them out to win so fast you shouldn’t be going emo over this game.

You are just referencing old history, this was almost a decade ago and I never denied that that happened. Like I said, there’s never been a clear line between what’s tolerable and what isn’t, which is why the situation now is so shit. No one can deny that Omerta is at an all time low, the issues I’ve laid out before have driven away the majority of the player base and I really don’t know how an ownership change is going to change things.

But there have been multiple instances of admins just taking it too far with their actions. There is blatant cheating (like what it seems you do), and then acts that are in the “grey area”. The admins don’t have a specific policy on how to enforce those and they just pick and choose who they akill strictly on favoritism. Either they should hold a steady line and enforce the rules for everyone equally or fuck off

KCode actually has a thorough passion for the game and is willing to change whatevers needed to make the game function again, but it’s kinda hard if you get 0 time and money allocated towards improvement.

As a business, Omerta has a responsibility to their consumers to provide timely responses and resolutions to problems in the game, Omerta has failed on this matter multiple times. It is the same bullshit everytime and people got tired of it. Admins of the game act like dictators and if you do not agree or if you complain they either ban you or admin kill you. In addition, the blatant favoritism the admins show particular players had rendered this game extremely unfair. If the 'new owners' truely wish to change the game they need to change the admins first.

to be honest because of admin`s decisions(all of them not a single person) the game lost the popularity. just wanna say 2 of them not the all. first one plating. imagine you are don at one of the top families , and a stupid assa can take your table and you cant get it back. also in old times low ranks can lead and everyone is confident that they will get their money from oc and moc. if someone scams in oc probably he will die in 2 hour. and ofc early wars. with plating you nearly set the war date which fucks the all strategy.
second one is about the hj. that was the worst decision that i saw in this game. just forget the big families how a new family can recruit? or how a newbie will start a game?. thanks god you changed it but how did you give that decision? kinda sure all of the playerbase would deny it.
protip to new owners. you have to make a usergroup. take 2 or 3 people from families and take their advices. and choose admins carefully just a few knows the game. otherwise as you can see there will be 4 or 5 families in a round

There have been direct channels to the admins/devs with player input, the problem is more that the actual owners refuse to invest into anything rather than the devs/KCode not wanting to do anything.
KCode actually has a thorough passion for the game and is willing to change whatevers needed to make the game function again, but it’s kinda hard if you get 0 time and money allocated towards improvement.

Regardless of giving too much hope, still good to hear that some things will change eventually.
