Actually let's say if me over here in NY decided to, I'd have to go as1 with all families because it's based on money, I can't go in running shooting everything up NOPE NOT TODAY!
But not here on a roleplaying game where everyone logs in as a gangster empty suit, because there is no common enemies we'd have in reality like perhaps; civilians to prey off which snitch you out, law enforcement, overwhelming military special ops to take out bosses...
You have to make enemies to play a game here, and it's also about having respect for them.
When you clearly blood everyone or just follow those kind of people and settling to be sold out, you're reassuring yourself that you are nothing here.
But then again, when I think of it. I had HT family showed me how to play Omerta a long time ago, and people in Provenzano family helped me and kept me around. I got to shoot with and learn more from people in Leviticus and Nazdrovia, and our biggest enemies were Lucchese families.
With that said, I don't think people here had that luxury to learn the game the way I did, and maybe people here are confused and get bunched up in pacts?
Nobody fucking comes to me in irc and asks me how to play the game I don't understand why and I do use it still to this day, Man, I really don't know...

Because from what I see, there is a playerbase. A lot just aren't very ambitious so they ghost and follow and have no part of the "roleplaying Dungeons and Dragons mafia game face table". Back in 3.0 I did survive about 48h or so by safehousing in intervals of 9h and then find 3 people to shoot me with 1 bullet (that would put you in hospital back then). In the end I ran out of people to ask and Gambino had people around the clock searching.

There's a difference between safehousing from your enemies in an open competitve round opposed to safehousing from your masters in a closed round which we have now :')

a few wanted to use the family to get old and new members based off nostalgia

but the people running Levi now used to play the same way back in the day, but in OTHER FAMILIES for the most part.
they didn't get called out on it often through forums or through any other outlet as often back then, because there was more people in the game that played and not like queers that they do, which could extend a version to 6 months so their gameplay was able to at least be casted away in the closet to be dealt with ... well unfortunalty a later time which is now ... :)
it became more obvious who ran Levi now since v5 started, wanted to use their shit gameplay as an advantage to take over the game and settle for 2 week deciding ending versions. ofc powerhouses will use them since they dont want to settle for first place in a race, I MEAN SERIOUSLY YOUR CAR IS AT THE STARTING LINE TO RACE AND YOUR TELLING YOURSELF YOU DONT WANT TO FINISH IN FIRST LOL????
