We've done all sorts of good things with the income of Omerta - but mostly we just paid salaries to good, honest, hard working people.

We got rid of a dev a couple of weeks ago who was not functioning well. We hired a new one who is great - he is working on the new chat applet and he did some light fixes on stuff like casino spot numbers during the week.

We should bring in one or two more in the coming weeks. Kcode was busy for weeks moving the game to new servers - and he is a legend & has my total support.

We have also been working for over a year to finally fully replace the (ancient) source base of the game.

When you don't see *new shit going live* it means we are *fixing deeper stuff for the future*

1. Rumours of my ill-health are vastly overstated. Mrs Brando ran & I jogged 12 Km in the blistering heat the day before yesterday. I am creaky but not in need of artificial stimulation to any of my greater organs, yet.

2. It may be a misconception of 'all you well-organised Mafia types' but *I don't run Omerta* - well - or 'I don't run Omerta well' - in fact I probably don't do either. I am a non-manger and only exist to provide the facilities which my colleagues need. That is why I joke about 'making the coffee'. I will freely admit that we need a better general manager and that *I am not he* - we can't afford one yet (this is one of the reasons why I am looking for outside finance - we need a (proper) social media manager, a proper general manager and a couple more developers - (and you need me to hang up my cafitiére).

3. We paid Grad and Undergraduate students an advised (and negotiated) wage. Short term placements were mostly for local schools in Hull and to be honest 'slave labour' is inaccurate - it takes more time to 'train' a school kid to do simple stuff than they stay in the chair for - but the kids like it, their schools like it - usually they get to review games for www.thirteen1.com - and usually we publish these too - but we hardly rely on schoolkid reviewers.

NB. Our graduates and postgraduates have all gone on to do very well indeed and we have some great testimonies.

4. That iceberg? All I see is slushy, where it used to be. The little boat is strong.

To be honest though - you don't seem to like me very much (generalising) - nor our crew, even though they are all ex-players - people from your own ranks. You don't like our developers and some of you seem to not even like the game - to wish it ill, and so on.

I am mystified as to why the haters amongst you (generalising) are still here. I was at a concert once and a heckler was giving the artist some sh*t. The artist (Ivor Cutler) was an elderly Scottish gentleman (who had been a friend of the Beatles and co during the psychedelic era) said this:

If I can find someone better than me (maybe half a dead chicken?) to do my job I will quit - then you'll be rid of me.

BUT you are not getting bashed here over the charity you do. You are getting flamed over your captaincy of the that cruise ship called omerta. You know that tiny boat you managed to hit the iceberg with... So stop telling people how awesome you are outside this community and actually do the job this people pay you money for: Straighten out your crew and fix your damn game.

And your study placements... You ought to mention how much you pay those poor souls, while they work for you. If I recall it correctly, your funding of study placements was free labour for omerta ltd.

I really don't mind the money I donate goes to heart surgery and if you really did that then that's a noble thing to do but when I read those statistics I start getting my doubts. If you would've said there is a part time coder working on omerta I would've believed it.

We never get new features, no marketing, no bug fixing (even after reporting it needs to be posted here on OB and mass abused before a fix comes), no admins to actually listen to the community.

All I see is kcode, the incompetent (volunteers) in #help, the bramblerose who only comes online to give away the weekend voucher and some idiot volenteer admins banning everyone who criticises you of the omerta forum.

Wait, is the account registered Brando on here actually Brando? I was pretty sure it was a parody acount, considering some (actually, most) of the posts it made. The recent reactions to Brando's posts, however, suggest otherwise.

Couldn't agree more mate, but as we have seen in the past years his priorities are somewhere else.. At least not in this game. :)

Atleast they can write what they feel here, without beeing hunted down like a witch in medieval europe...like lets say forums inside omerta.

And to your heart bleeding post. Its all well and dandy what you have done, what you are doing and what you will do...But I do not give a damn that you pay for someone going to the university, paying heart operation etc...All I care for, and the majority of your ever-shrinking playerbase is that you RUN and FIX the game.

And like Jordyrp said - "So what is it that *you* do? - & thanks for your interest." In general we are PAYING your salaries and apparently giving money to heart operations, giving people the chanse to study and teaching people to drive. All in all your whole Braveheart speech wouldn't be possible without your average omerta player so you should change your tone quickly mister, before you loose even more people and have to find a real job.
