The so called pact of 3.4 and their supporting families back then are being shot by a new massive force, after plans leaked that "the pact" was going to shoot first.
Among the first attackers where the Marazzino and Yigidos alliances, who targetted Vincitori, Conflict and the Liberta alliance.
Because of leaked plans, Vincitori, Liberta and their bloods were already on standby, resulting in a quick counter.
Because of the number of families involved and the downtime this war was utter chaos, but I'll try to make a detailed account.
Marazzino+, Yigidos+, Gelibolu+ → Vincitori, Liberta+
Revelations → Conflict
The Supremazia and Lucchese alliances countered quickly for their bloods, resulting in:
Supremazia, Messina, Lucchese/Squad → Blacksea, Yigidos
Memento and Samagono jumped in to help conflict
Memento, Samagono → Revelations
Righelli and Bruinsma helped their blood too by shooting Kurosawa. Kuro however denied shooting at Conflict.

Armada chose to shoot Gelibolu+
Armada → Gelibolu, Impero
Infragilis counter-countered for their blood Kurosawa

Within an hour tho, Underground starting shooting Lucchese/Squad, after which Lucchese focussed on Underground while Supremazia and Messina focussed on Blacksea and Yigidos

Bramblerose created a news post about what happend after the servers got up again.
2 days later, the shooting has stopped. With both attackers and defenders decimated, this war has no clear winner.

I was thinking if I should tell you guys or not, but we want also more fun and a better game play so here is a tip for the attacking families:
Learn from the so called pac families, did you see them shooting down all families in once? No they carefully pick some families that they shoot down first so the other side is weak. Look for families that are connected to ''the pact'' but not so close that an overwhelming counter attack would find place. For sure there are families that can be shot down without all the pact shooting for revache.
Shoot some of the smaller families down with good organisation, then later on if you do shoot one of the main families you don't have the problem that all pacts fams and ''pac lover families'' jump all on you. Still would be a hard war, but for sure your chances are better.
I think you need to make more tactical moves and that's why the ''pact'' families have a big advantage ingame now, they careful think and plan there moves that will benefit the most and gives the best opportunists in the future

Well, first of all: Nice war, this must have been one of the biggest (and messiest ?) wars of all time. I saw so many deaths and so many (weird?) kills and I was only logged in for a little while.
I just want to 'clarify' this whole 'pact' business; There has been no pact, I've said it before and I will say it again, there has been no pact.. There's 'just' bloods shooting for each other. Now, at the beginning of this version, there was a rumour with quite some evidence to back it up that a lot of families had united themselves in what was called a 'counter-pact' and they were targeting all fams that had previously been (falsely) labeled as 'the pact' (There's no such thing).
From the families that others often call 'the pact', there was no plan of being a 'pact' or anything of the sorts (there has never been such a plan), the families that others call 'the pact' were each going their own way. But because of this so called 'counter-pact' there was really little to no option to do so. So when all these families were targeted by this 'counter-pact' yes, they all shot back and got their bloods involved. Every family/person in their right mind would do the same if they were individually targeted.
About this DDOS attack, I highly doubt it was an actual DDOS attack, if it was the systems would have been down quite a lot longer, as Omerta.LTD has neither the intelligence nor the manpower to tackle such an attack quickly. I think it had more to do with the sheer magnitude of the war and maybe of the other war I have been hearing/reading about.

why stop blaming it on the servers, timelord?? i dont believe the admins on just their word, could aswell be their servers.
I for a fact was at the defenders also, everyone hated the server being down because we were shooting already and had our detectives running also. Some of my own detectives had expired and some of our guys logged in dead. It's a cheap to use the downtime as an excuse since we were already in our warchannels with detectives on you guys. detectives that also expired on our side. i even have logs of defenders complainimg their detectives are going yo expire.

THe DDos made a difference, and it did not favour the attackers, who were not able to deliver all their shots, due to timed out dets. Again, I hope the DDos guy can wank-off over the new star on a fampage... Personally I would find it nice, if the pact fams which are still up, would gun down that respective family instead of winning a version this way.
The fact, that somebody takes this text based nerd mafia game serious enough to launch a ddos attack on the server itself is kinda sad enough, already. Though the odds greatly favour him to get away with it safely, it would still be hillarious if the police shows up on his doorstep.

If I had a dollar for everytime I heard that statement from the admins. If there is actually an "update" I'll give $100 omertà dollars to the first person that posts if they do "update"!! Of course, since I said that, there probably will be an update now. :p
But seriously, more times then I can remember, the admins have said "we will look into it and let you know" only to not have them respond ... At all ... Ever.
I would really love to know the real reason behind the crash, whether it be a ddos attack or otherwise. The people who pay good money to play this game deserve to know why their game was interrupted and fucked up!

Any oldschool player remembers how in every big war Omerta used to go down in the old days. In every big war, we used get blank pages, and slowmerta. So it would make sense to me. I mean just look at the amount of dead people on .com alone, 792 players died, whereas on dm 150 players died. And war leaked on both versions, so almost all fams on .com and dm had dets hired. So that's more than enough to bring the server down. Just look back and try to remember the white pages we used to get before, just because of a war, and the when you would not get your kill message etc...
It's easy to turn everything into a conspiracy. But having played Omerta since 2.1, I think I've seen about everything. And I think that this is another server failure.
That's just my opinion.
