A few days ago Omerta gave us a sneak preview of a new lackey.
What we know is the following: the lackey will be named Hagen, and is already active on the developer server.
The following picture was posted yesterday on Omerta's Facebook as a sneak preview:
A day before that though, on the 19th, Brando has posted a lot of information on his personal Facebook page about this new lackey. You can read it here, but as always, you need a Facebook account to see the page. You can also read the text below.
For those who don't know, the name of this new lackey, Hagen, seems to be directly derived from the book (and movies) The Godfather, where Tom Hagen is the consiglieri of the Corleone family. The name choice seems odd, being that this new lackey will be one which will be managing the other lackeys. For his job, a name like Tessio or Clemenza, the capo's of the Corleone family in the original book, seems more fitting.
Here is what Wikipedia has to say about Tom Hagen's nature:

He is the informally adopted son of Don Vito Corleone and serves as the family lawyer and consigliere (legal advisor). Mild-mannered and soft-spoken, he often serves as a voice of reason within the family.
statements
Hagen is a step-down for the dev team and I, even though he is of my design, he's not my idea - in fact he was suggested by a multitude of players.
Hagen will manage Lackeys, when they get tired - resting them, minding their allotted credits and re-hiring them when they are rested enough to go to work again at a good rate of return for the hiring player.
We did not want to do this because we considered the disadvantage of logging in or *being too tired* perennially, to be something which dupes ought to pucker up and learn to live with.
But during the last couple of weeks Brando spent a lot of time in IRC and Mantis and email, explaining our tiredness rules over and over and over and over and over and over again to players and even to crew.
Lemme explain it here.
Lackeys must be as useful as scripts, but cannot be stronger than manualy ranking.
If they can do b/n 24/7 without penalty then they are stronger than manual play. We can't have that.
So we fixed lackeys to go off work when totally exhausted - rather than carry on working to no effect and making your account catastrophically tired.
Hence the line: ' he needs to sleep a little ' - at the end of long-logging lackeys.
But notalotofpeopleunderstandthat it would seem.
So we are putting in a lackey manager - Hagen - who will, at your behest fire your lackeys when they get tired in order than when you log in again you can manually rank to your heart's content with no penalty.
He is going to be more expensive than the other lackeys.
And the longer you use him for, the more expensive he will be - why?
Because we are money-grabbing SCUMBAGS who hold all players in the deepest of contempt and...
...hang on...
Managing your lackeys is also free.
All you need to do is log in and switch them off - or indeed, not give them too many credits to begin with.
And why is this so?
To piss off people who have more than one account ranking on lackeys.
It won't harm manuals.
It won't harm people who log in every day at least once!
It will just cost The Earth to people who have already decided that they can buy success in Omerta.
Hagen is on dev, awaiting testing. Expect to see him within the next couple of weeks.

Yea, suppose I use most of my time writing 10 comments here a week and starting my lackeys. I know the days in Norway are short during the winter, but they last longer than the 30/40min I spend on omerta a day.

Omerta seems to be heading towards a future wich you can see in a old siencefiction movie. Robots ( Lackeys ) are taking over everything humans can do, in the end there will be no need for us ;(

If you are retired, what are you doing here? Relapse? Perhaps the only pathetic who spent his life here was you, but now awakened to life and is working in a factory Dacia / Renault

@ Redspreert : Still your 'I have money for omerta' sentense does sound ignorant. But it is just me, a 3rd world country boy :)
I say they should make an UI, in which we would have the privilege to program different sets of lackeys. Some of them would be concentrated on market, some on war (shooting lackey, bodyguard training lackey etc etc) and some on making other lackeys happy. Noone would be able to have ALL the robots at the same time. You would need to choose which is your position in the society, and start to work on it! Lets say.. From 30 lackeys, you could pick only 12 of them? That sound quite fair. I think it would make the lackey game more interesting and more flexible. Go Robots! Ooops... Lackeys!

Well, I don't know the education level of your country, but looking at you it looks like a bad case of 3rd world hate.
I won't question intelligence, but you are aware that you can click on peoples name here (aslong as they are registrated). There you can check their posts and it appears I have 548 posts over a 439 days span - that makes it 1.25 posts a day, or 8/9 a week if you prefer that. You can also see I got 5 posts the last 8 days (not including this post)
I haven't been much active in omerta since 3.1, because since the lackeys were added I don't need to spend much time on this game, but still have an account to shoot with in wars. The reason that you might see me on this page often, is that I got it set on stay logged in, so aslong as I don't close my internet browser I won't go offline.
And no, I won't delete your post, because I won't give you the chanse to hide that you are an ignorant fool with no knowledge about anything.
I guess you have reached the climax of your life now, when you can come here to bash - when infact you used/use to spend most of your days here actually manualy ranking. If I don't remember to badly you shot your own blood some time ago because your internet wife had a beef with them xd. Yea, better not piss of your internet love, as that is most likley the closest connection you'll ever have with a "female".

why fix anything or hear what players want. just add more lackeys and maybe some animation so we can see lackeys working? at least then we have something to do/watch
