Today i recieved a PM from mister Anonymousss, claiming he was the one removing the money ingame. The complete irc log with the "hacker" is posted below.
I also added the complete log from the conversation i had with Brando, its added below.
Conclusion of the chat i had with him: He can remove the cash from every player in the game who is kept in pocket. Bank money can't be touched. Money, Bullets, HP's and other stuff can't be added!

As curious as i was, i decided to test it..we first tested this at player Yoghami
After this i decided to crank it up a bit, sorry for the people who got hit, i picked randomly names.
All users were offline, so they could not have banked the cash!
During this, our reporterbot gave this information about the economy:

After revealing this hack on our site, admins have closed down #reina, in which the hacker was talking with people, and Sbanks has been g-lined.

#reina has been opened again by the admins, but the hacker has been banned there. He is now visiting #camorra, #krays and #omerta.

Brando: And of course we are very sorry to the players who lost out. It is a shame that people use exploits, and difficult to exclude these when you have new developers on the team. We will close them later today and consider a rollback as well.

Nobody will give you back your RP, but at least the global situation will be fair enough. And please read the previous posts before posting smth like this Ishma... Giving back money=not possible. So rollback is the most fair solution to balance the game again.

4% of the money disappeared. If you want to make a favorable estimate then for every 10 people that lost money, there will be 240 that lose from a rollback. But let's be a little more honest here. There were at most 20 accounts with 200 million or more. If I had that kind of money I would not keep all of it in my pocket regardless, but still. Clearly some people did. Just because 4% of money disappeared does not mean 4% of users lost money. In fact most of that 4% belongs to a very small group of people. 1% of players in control of 4% of money? Maybe .1% (1/1000)... Let's go in the middle of that, if 1 out of 200 people lost money, then if you rollback for 10 people you hurt 1990 others. If you rollback for 50 people (and I seriously doubt more than a few dozen actually lost a substantial amount of money), you will hurt ten thousand others.

There are many very large databases in the world and afaik none of them the size of the moon... Compared to them, this would still be a small db... but it is true, if not implemented correctly it could be a huge burden on the DB servers (which I guess, with Omerta devs and the high turnover of Omerta Devs, none of them ever reach a true 'competent' level to implement this...)

most funny thing imo after all this is that admins still keep the game open while they are talking about a possible rollback. They should just close the game down till they decided what they are gonna do because now families that didnt got attacked are still buying those bullets with for example bm, players are still ranking using lackeys (ok who cares if those lose credits), and players are still buying those bullets.
and for the people saying people losing dc's bought with rl money aint that 2 seperate systems and wont be removed if they do a rollback? if you bought them you still have the code so you can resell them again (only problem is person who bought it has the code too) correct me if im wrong there though.
As last thing imo a rollback is the only solution even though we are 3/4 days further now the person responsible for this "hack" already stated himself that he used it on families he wants to die and only targetted certain families not related to each other. The other families got some kinda links to each eather through bloods or bloods.
Almost all targetted families were involved in some big wars not too long ago and are on a recovery and with omerta ka/markets etc it is needed nowdays to have atleast 180kk for a brug to be really usefull in a war, so the families who still have their money have a big advantage over the others since we are not talking about a few million lost, I know of a friend of mine who lost over 230 million due to the attacks.
So I stay with my opinion a rollback is the only thing admins should/could do, so I would almost advice people to stop playing till admins gave a decent explanation of what they are doing atm what they gonna do about solving it and if their or wont be a rollback, just check in every now and then even if some fam would decide to go to war now aint your accounts stronger offline anyways?

some people have already lost rl money due to the the disappearing ing money, although a large part of it was ing generated in the casinos it wasn't just casinos that were hit. there will be losers whatever they do. but that doesn't mean they should do nothing, they should at least try to find a way to either refund some losses.. the traceable ones like casinos where you can find a lot of info from loggers, or roll back and check their providers for who bought codes in the 3 days, and send new codes to those.
the biggest mistake was keeping the game open when such large sums of money were "disappearing", but i guess everyone needs a weekend :')
anyway, whatever they choose to do, someone will be unhappy :P
