Reason is Guardians was making a plan and trying to convince fams to shoot Ascension. Ascension was aware of this due to a log which was leaked to Berk by zXnrate from Outfit.

Very nice and organized move of Ascension! Can't predict the future, but right after a big war where all families were involved, I don't think Guardians + will have many chances.
