Like so many have hinted and seen happening already this version. The big construction companies owned by the local mafia were using their power to gain money in even darker ways than usual for thugs. The feds caught on to the fraud and execution the culprits.
Two days after the Akilling spree, we see people getting akilled yet again. Though this time not because they cheated, but because they are getting a revive. Their killers were among the exploiters.

I have no problem with anyone's English as long as it is understandable (and not some bullshit kiddy writing with half the letters omitted or changed and phonetic spelling as that is hard to read). Yours is perfectly fine.
To the point:
A rollback would influence a lot of innocent people? And what about the supposed billions made using this bug? I bet more than half of it was not recovered. What about the people in the family that went down who knew nothing of the matter? What about the time spent making all the killed accounts (Yes, sure, the last, me included, exploited this bug. I for one did not make a single dollar off of that), the effort, even the real money some people spent? What about the ones remaining in these families that will likely get killed soon because people do no think with their hands and think "herp, cheater family, derp" even though most people did not know about the exploit? Yeah, a two-day rollback would have been infinitely worse. Sure. Oh, and now I hear that this bug has actually been present for a very long time and this is simply the first time it spread widely. Nobody was punished before, was it? Like corrupt politicians the crew issue a blanket akill order to take the heat off of themselves for making this possible in the first place by putting all the blame on the people who used the bug. Cool stuff. This will be my last post, I have no desire to discuss this any more. I have moved on and I hope you all do the same and stop giving money to the bastards who never do their job right and always blame the community for their own faults.

even finished games aren't secure to don't have bugs, even so after a complete ks and raid rework.
If you see something that shouldn't be working like this, naturally you report that bug, because you either losing out of it or others have a gain through it.
But if you found it and it helps you, you will mostlikely try to exploit it, because people are selfcentred and in the end most will do what benefits them.
I would rollback to the point were it was first abused, clear the profit of the spot, clear money of abuser and punish them with an 48 hr safehouse e.g. . Regardless of what the admins do, if the exploit was before the Krays downfall i personally think a revive to them should be granted.
I say that as an Faffie, because even smallscale exploits can have lasting effects, like a few members of Karadeniz making millions and millions, getting bullets and than killing Krays.

Yeah lets rollback a week or two! Good idea!

Of course I agree that is a bug, I never said otherwise. Having the ability to generate essentially free infinite money is certainly a bug. Of course it has to be fixed and sooner rather than later, of course as much as possible should be made to balance things out, take out the money made, give warnings, etc. I don't agree with the reaction of the crew. Carpet akilling the version is not an appropriate response. They screwed up. Big time. This bug should never have existed. If they had done their job properly, the job they get payed for, the bug would not have existed. With such a huge bug and so many people suddenly starting to use it, the appropriate response would be first of all FIXING it, then reversing its effects (with a rollback or a manual extraction of the money), not killing everyone involved.
In your CEO analogy, if the company that made millions (not billions) made it without actually harming anyone they would not be jailed, they would be heroes. Making a profit out of nothing? That would be the discovery of the century. So not a great analogy.
Anyway, if the consequences could be reversed why not do that instead of wasting the time and effort of everyone who played for 4 weeks before this and never did anything wrong? Does this seem like a proportionate response to you?

The disclaimer is very clear about this, when you find exploits in the game you report them. When you decide not to and use them you risk an admin kill. A rollback influences too many innocent people and only should be done when not rolling back influences more players. Why would they not punish cheaters for cheating? Manually remove the money would could a lot of time and you wouldn't be punished for your cheating. Next to that they probably can't even exactly trace all the money anymore.

Second - there has been bugs as long as there has been Omerta. This current spot bug was one of the easiest to use I must admit so the response from admins should have been faster (also kind of harmless as some bugs back in days were used to hack players accounts and getting the information like bullet account and so on). But keeping that "easy" part in mind - it was also easy to abuse. And I think every normal person with avg IQ understood that the way the spot worked wasn't right. So when players used the spot bug - they did with their own risk. As it wasn't right - punishment might come later, as it did.
Third - yes my English is far away from perfect but I try, I do try.

@Singularity
if your point is you didn't know what was going on, then you kinda agree that it was a bug
because saying you didn't know, also means you wouldn't do it if you knew = you think it's smth unfair
and about that boosting bullshit :') to all those defending it;
let's agree it's exactly like boosting for a moment; it would still be unfair as fuck
if EVERY spot had some way of boosting money, it could be acceptable
but since it only works for one specific spot = unfair and should be punished
here's an example btw, since you like them so much;
you work in a big company
your CEO and shareholders are planning to pull a con, in order to get a fraudulent billion
so they come and tell you what to do, and not their real intention
and you do everything they say, you sign every related documents = by your hand, your company makes a billion
then feds realize all this and investigate = they see your signature everywhere
you think would it save you from getting a punishment to say ''I didn't know!! ;'( ;'('' then?
Moral of the post: if you didn't know, go confront your tops, blame them, tell them they are scumbags, leave them, find a new family, choose more carefully who you trust

and why not fix the small bugs (when they had time) - like gambling...bj, roulette - 1 dosen't work at all, 1 for some but not to all - okey minor part of the game but fun, can make profit or lose all = then the fun might start :D Anyway - this bug they had to fix...rest they don't give a flying...

More on topic. I don't wish to sound hateful at all and can understand people are angry for having been akilled. However, Singularity, even if you aid in abuse unwittingly, as you claim, you still are an abuser.
Suppose you live in a big city and someone tells you the city has designated several walls for graffiti art. You spray graffiti on one of these walls regularly and some day you get arrested by the police, since, after all, you weren't allowed to use graffiti on that particular wall. Who would you be angry at? The police, for enforcing the law, for just doing their jobs? The guy who wrongly told you you were allowed to do what you did? Or at yourself for not questioning what had been said to you in the first place and just behave accordingly?

I am sorry about yesterdays "expressiveness", I was angry and some comments ticked me off.
Let me give you a more accurate analogy. Your city has introduced traffic lights that turn green when you flash your lights to avoid waiting times in off-peak hours. You use them for years, flashing you lights for green and all is well. Then one day you go to an unfamiliar part of the city. You flash your lights, the light turns green, you enter the crossroad and hit a car you did not see (assume blocked visibility) because the light was actually malfunctioning and was not supposed to turn green at this particular intersection.
See the difference? You could say that we were abusing because we repeated the buy/sell cycle many times. However, we did it in a single stretch of time - it was the first time I ever did that, I did not realize that someone could be that oblivious and code it in such a bad way, although my experience with web developers shows that this is a recurrent theme with them. As I said, I was grinding - I was simply clicking while watching a movie. I did not think about it, I did not analyze what I was doing from a programming point of view (adding twice and subtracting only once; but that is the developers job, no?). I did not realize the problem until after I was akilled after a guy told me to RIP in our family channel. I initially thought I was shot and after seeing that I was akilled I went to the help channel to ask for an explanation because I really did not know what I had done wrong. Of course, Bramblerose was his usual useful and helpful self so I received no information of value. Only when one of my tops explained it I realized that it was an exploit (you really should start making a distinction between hack, bug, abuse, exploit - I know it is hard but do try, please).
I digress. My point is, I had no idea what the problem was until it was explained to me after the fact. I am absolutely sure many more people are like this. We do not always have the inclination of analyzing every feature of this game because that is what it is - a game. We all have lives, we all have jobs and not all of us want to be as involved in the more intricate parts of the game. For example, since about a week ago is the first time I was ever a capo because I did not want to waste time dealing with it before. I do not know how capo profit really works - I only knew that boosting is something you do to make a 100% brug a CD or GF.
MANY MORE PEOPLE ARE LIKE THIS! You see it all the time, people who do not know how raids work, how OC and MOC should be organized, what the new things do, how do they work, etc. The developers make changes, most often left undocumented and leave people to figure them out by themselves. I have neither the time nor the desire (it is not my f-ing job, after all - it is theirs!!!) to consider every interaction when I make an action. Neither do most other players.
The f-ing developer whose job it is to do this did not consider this particular interaction when making changes and I AM SUPPOSED TO?! What kind of twisted logic is that?!
