You're yet again trying to say the admins are the ones that need to change things. I didn't say lackeys were a bad thing, it mainly even outs the playingfield between scripters and non-scripters. In the past good accounts were hard to kill as well, the difference was that it wasn't a 1 side versus another side. Let's say you have 50 different families playing and all those 50 families play for their own good, things would balance out a lot better and even rerankers will get the chance to shoot again and grow stronger because of that.

I'm sure a game such as omerta, with good gameplay and abilities for average joe to also start a family for himself, without getting gangbanged with a 5:1 ratio, can get more than 2000 players worldwide (if advertised again like they used to and perhaps have an app to make things more mobile). These 2000 players back in the days come from a time when the game was mainly played by Dutch people.

Admins can only do so much - change the re-ranking system , fiddle with KA for balance etc.
The ONLY people who can change the game from 4wk deathmatches to the game we once knew are the PLAYERS themselves . Want to bring back the fun ? Change your playing style , dont join mass blooding fams or leave the fam if they arent playing the way you want them too and join a fam that is .

which ideas you mean?

1.Do something about reranking is useless (and versions are short) is already in testing to try somehing different on .dm (so admins try to work on that). If it works we don't know, but at least they try to change it and look for a solution.

2. Or do you mean the annoying call to remove lackeys. Removing lackeys will destroy the game even more, besides they make a great profit with the lackeys, there are not 1000 people willing to rank manually there way up to bruglione (or even local chief) without lackeys. The glory days when there were 2000-3000 members in a version won't come back with removing lackeys. A lot of people used scripts back in these days, because manually ranking yourself up to high rank version after version is way too much effort for people that go to school or have a job.

The idea's have been thrown out there multiple times already, just the players deny it themselves and blame admins for it dying instead.

Blaming won't help, ideas can.

I just checked out the statistics since a very long time. There used to be a time (certainly after resets), where you had to scroll through the 'users online' list. A time where you wouldn't be able to track down your own name without using ctrl+f unless you had a top starting time.

Now, I've just looked at it again and only 275 people were online. That's just a handful, that's less than the size families like Yakuza would have in the past. The game is dying and it's not the admins but the players who are responsible for it.
