Originally, all business objects were purchasable by families. That was changed around a year ago or so, I think. The raid situation wasn't all that different before that change - people were using raid scripts pretty much right after launch. Raiding especially in crowded cities like Detroit was just as hard as it is now.

It sounds like fewer people are attempting to raid now because it is just too difficult and time consuming.

All spots being purchasable by families sounds like a cluster.. But I would like to see more raid worthy profits as long as people can work for it on an individual level. I still like the idea of Local Gangsters running more big profit objects.

On that note: I could go on for days about ideas this game could implement to make it more challenging/ fun..

One that I have done a little thinking about comes from Travian. In that game, there were AI enemies called Natars and local villages, much like local gangsters, except they could be attacked for profit and the Natars involved a group effort to defend against.

My thinking is that if Omerta were to implement the Local Gangsters in a bigger role than just collecting money, families could start out the server fighting for control over their own cities against "AI", rather than against each other. This might give everyone a chance to enjoy their accounts before playing "Russian Roulette" with meta wars.

With that concept, possibilities are limitless. If people were to have to work together to take out "local bosses" for control over objects, defend those object, and to increase territories (city spots), it just might make this a friendlier game for everyone.

But let's face it.. Omerta is what it is. :p

Want to make the game more competitive and enjoyable.
Convince everyone to cut down on their bloodsize. Plain and simple.

That's never gonna happen without some changes to the core of the game.

I tried that. They said to stop crying.. I was not aware that I was crying until they told me to stop. I thought I was just trying to be reasonable.

But those are the same people who get involved in poker bugs and lottery glitches because the omerta HOF is what they truly live for. You try reasoning with people like that. It's not worth the trouble for me.

so what is the new script for raids then ppl ???????????????

Isn't new, admins know about it and do not repair it..
There's really nothing to repair with the current system, there are gazillions of ways you could beat human players trying to raid (I'm assuming that's what you're talking about?) and really not all that much to prevent it from happening. The first raid script that circulated some years ago got blocked when it became widespread, by the way.

What you can do is not make it based on who's able to enter a 3-character code the fastest (or who has the best script to do just that.)

Create a, let's say, 5-minute window during which people can set up a raid on a spot, and then execute them at the same time while splitting the results (maybe based on raid skill.)

Or remove the 30-minute spot cooldown completely (while keeping the player cooldown) and lower the chance of success and/or the payout to a level where it's still maintainable for the spot owner (and not necessary to check for raids every second, of course). It could also be based on the number of successful raids per hour (losing a lot results in beefed up security, or something like that.)

It seems like there is usually a quick fix to these things that does not necessarily require a lot of code rewriting.

Local Ganster spots should not reset so often. The need to use the "glitch" method is caused because there are not nearly enough profitable objects to go around.

In essence, the glitch does not need to be fixed. Omerta just needs to open more opportunities for the average player. By minimizing Local Gangster object resets to once a day would eliminate the need to "cheat" while also helping family owned objects actually become profitable enough worth running even while the owner is promoted to CD or GF.

I do agree that the local mob situation needs to be changed. I'd actually argue most if not all spots should be purchasable by families again. The argument for limiting family spots to the current ones was that spots pushed too much money in the economy. Since that update was implemented, two major money bugs got busted, each of which pushed billions in the economy every version. To a degree this is what made people get more aggressive about money trading a.k.a funding, as well as selling DCs in unprecedented numbers (which of course is a bit of a conflict of interest).
It was definitely easier for active fams to make money before this change.

anyway if you got to #help the channel is empty, and this is the first version with only 10-15 akill ( don't count the empty suits) ?
seems there is no cheater anymore in the game, or they re not enough to caught them and everyone is free to cheat, i think so there is a problem with raid's spots
Akills are down quite a bit indeed, 44 Mobster+ and 4 LC+ this version vs. 109 Mobster+ and 22 LC+ last version 15 days in.
