yea that seems much more than now but still can't reach millions imo xD
now its around 2k I think, and that old versions seems to have max 10k orso imo
I'd say maybe 200k "unique" users of all times, including all side-versions
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omerta_%28video_game%29
and I googled around and seems you copied some stuff from there :p
but it also says there "in February 2013 version 4.0 was released with enhanced game-play"
I mean, ROFLMFAO, enhanced gameplay in 4.0 my ass
so other facts are delusional too I think xD
typcial Brando style, twisting everything + making up facts to make it look cool xD

It's hard to believe but it is unfortunately true, remember these 4.5 are not only on .com divide them over all subversion but leaving .com with having the majority.
Remember when statistics pages used to have a single family as big as couple families now
Now the average family HQ lies between 75/100

lol I'm having a hard time beliving those numbers being unique registered users, especially that 4.5 mil
game has lost like 4.498.000 players then :D

Well since the time barafranca LTD has been running they had over 4.5 million unique registered users, but take into account on all servers .dm .nl .de etc etc. In July 2009 version 3.0 of Omerta was released. In the first month after the release more than 100 000 players registered.
these might not all be 100k unique but we can assume 90k where unique 10k got killed in that month's process including the dupes. And we all know that after 3.0 it went downwards. I remember back in 2005 playing on .nl around 4am and there were like more players online than we have now when a version gets reset. So don't be amazed if there were actually 100k players maybe not all active but it is something.

Yeah, omerta needs an impulse for new players for quite some time. The playerbase keeps shrinking, I can still remember in the past admins attached a lot of value to being top text based game etc. I don't think omerta is even in the top20 on most of them right now.

Accounts not players.
Important distinction. Still 100.000 might be a bit too high, I agree.

I think they were 23 or 24 last i checked, I guess they dont care anymore. Brando is chilling with all the money he saved up from the game all these years invested in some building he bought in belgium or something i dont really remember.

Let some small family win this version so they can brag about how they won 4.0.

What alot of people don't take into consideration when they say don't reset version is open etc.
On one point they are right version is wide open and is for grab for anyone that reranks.
But what people forget is that we are not in V2 version anymore, the playerbase is too small to have a actual long running version.
Before you had for example 100.000 registered accounts after such a version for example 50.000 will rerank which means a family can still start up and eventually win with 40-100 highranks. But when the playerbase is too small this is practically impossible because it's not worth the effort to try for the second/third time rerank with 70% of your initial rankers not around. A family that normally consist of 50 rankers will now only have less than 50%
Many implications play part in this mainly the playerbase consists now of what? 8000 "real" registered accounts? of that only 4000 are still playing, taking 1000 which are just dupes that leaves us with 3000 real players. Half of them lost all motivation to play mainly because their families can't be strong enough anymore which will eventually drop to 1000-1500 players with motivation to still play.
Of that small group (1000-1500) that still want to play are having a difficult time with ranking mainly because they are screwed by other players that raised the DC price to what 6m now? So those approximately 1500 players, lets say 65% does not buy DC with own cash but relies on Obay. When they see that they cant afford 6m every couple days with their assassin acc that leaves us with a small majority of pay to play members that want to rerank, mostly not organized because major fams(that rank high at the start of the version) are much weaker and consider it not worthy to rerank which such high pirces and smaller family playerbase and practically when they cannot enjoy the game because they are in a zombie town.
Finding a MOC was already hard when the playerbase was big now it is impossible which plays also in the factor of motivation to continue with this version. We can nag about playing the version further etc but it wont help, if you dont have fun playing this boring game you loose the motivation to play it further.
Don't get me wrong i want longer versions but reality shows us that this is quite impossible with such a small playerbase where everyone is bored to play it any further.

What alot of people don't take into consideration when they say don't reset version is open etc.

I don't think there was ever a moment where there were 100.000 players?
Well since the time barafranca LTD has been running they had over 4.5 million unique registered users, but take into account on all servers .dm .nl .de etc etc. In July 2009 version 3.0 of Omerta was released. In the first month after the release more than 100 000 players registered.
these might not all be 100k unique but we can assume 90k where unique 10k got killed in that month's process including the dupes. And we all know that after 3.0 it went downwards. I remember back in 2005 playing on .nl around 4am and there were like more players online than we have now when a version gets reset. So don't be amazed if there were actually 100k players maybe not all active but it is something.
lol I'm having a hard time beliving those numbers being unique registered users, especially that 4.5 mil
game has lost like 4.498.000 players then :D
It's hard to believe but it is unfortunately true, remember these 4.5 are not only on .com divide them over all subversion but leaving .com with having the majority.
Remember when statistics pages used to have a single family as big as couple families now
Now the average family HQ lies between 75/100

yea that seems much more than now but still can't reach millions imo xD
now its around 2k I think, and that old versions seems to have max 10k orso imo
I'd say maybe 200k "unique" users of all times, including all side-versions
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omerta_%28video_game%29
and I googled around and seems you copied some stuff from there :p
but it also says there "in February 2013 version 4.0 was released with enhanced game-play"
I mean, ROFLMFAO, enhanced gameplay in 4.0 my ass
so other facts are delusional too I think xD
typcial Brando style, twisting everything + making up facts to make it look cool xD
plus it says "and there are no paid functions which would give paying-players advantages over those who do not pay."
lololololol
That train passed when we arrived at Lackey Town. Well it actually was like derailing than actual passing. But before that it basically was.
