For those of you who missed it, Omerta Deathmatch is coming back after a few months of hiatus. Reset is planned for tomorrow (Monday, July 14th) at 11 OT.

The new version of Omerta Deathmatch comes with the following updates:

User Interface (UI)

The change in UI brings more life into your character together with improved interactivity.

  • The Avatar allows you to get real time info about your character; what is your health status, rank progress, kill skill or overall position in the game.

  • The side bar has three short cuts, which allow you easy access to maps, messages and alerts.

  • The top bar is adapted for easier follow up adding the latest news, game changes and your master account settings.

  • The 'Omerta' menu is removed. The most frequently used links from it have been moved to the top bar, including the tickets and donate.

Live Chat

To keep in touch with your partners in crime we are presenting you the Live Chat. Currently, Live Chat is in the form of General Chat, but in the future you will be able to access different types of rooms:

  • A room for the city you are in,

  • A family room,

  • Private/Public rooms for organized crimes.

Forum

Forums are now focused on better communication between players. With friendly-to-eye design it is easy to read and even easier to follow up with comments and news. The first objective will be to give a complete design to this part of the game, adding hot news, top comments and threaded conversations.

City Maps

  • Changed capo regimes. Capo regime is no longer a unique spot. Instead, it is represented by a group of spots. What does this exactly mean?

    • 1 spot = 5 members (except the start one which is 10 members)

    • 1 capo can have 4 spots (4 spaces in the map) = 25 members headquarter,

    • Price per spot (space on map) is reduced,

    • After buying the initial spot, the capo can spread his headquarter by buying ONLY neighbour spots (choose wisely were to start!).

  • Houses. Each spot that doesn't run a business will have buildings to rent.
You can no longer BUY houses but you can RENT them. You are able to rent 1 house per city, and within the city maps you can choose where you want to live. You can live in any spot which doesn't have a business (casinos, bullet factory..). But be careful! Each spot has a limit of 5 houses. Some of them have villas and apartments, others don't. This means, that the number of the houses in the game is LIMITED.
House rent. The height of the rent is different for each type of accommodation: apartment, house and villa. Every day at midnight Omerta Time (00:00 OT) rent is paid. The money is taken from your bank account. If by this time you don't have enough money to afford the rent, the house will no longer belong to you.

End Game Concept

For the first time ever, Omerta will have a strategically objective. It is very simple: a family is the winner of a version,
if they conquer a city for X number of days.
The X varies depending of the size of the city.

To conquer a city you, as a family, need to completely own the city.

In this way it is easier for players to understand the status of the version - if it is playable or if it is near the end.

The number of days per city will be defined later on in the version.

What do you think about the changes? Are you going to play? What kind of (other) updates do you hope to see?

Meh, they lost so many players now that the game has become very predictable. I don't think they have the right priorities, they are focussing too much on the design and lay-out.

In my opinion more simple things like adjusting rankspeed, adjusting KA, adding some new market items, adjusting item prices and adding new bodyguards would make the game much more exciting.

They seem to be falling into the 'social-media' trap. Omerta is not an social facebook game and it will never be.

I think this is just a raw first draft. They rewrote the code so they can implement things much quicker in the future.

The objective is a good thing, i think. Tho we'll have to see how it plays out. The ingame chat is a nice addition, where i found my first couple of heists. Cooldown timers for group crimes are halved, which is good. Gives manual rankers more of an edge.

Now they need to build on this. KA is fine imo, but you should have more ways to gain account strength. Implement racing in account strength and group crimes for example. And have shooting skill that works kinda the same as busting skill. In that it gives you higher profits on group crimes and more account strength, without making it overpowered.

Wasn't the time or group crimes on .dm cut to half anyway, or am I remembering it wrong?

When i played, it was the same as .com. You just got more cash from doing it.

Last 3-4 versions on .dm groupcrimes were half the time.

They were cut already before the changes, nothing new about that.

Too little, too late.

It would have been interesting to see whether this new UI is more or less bug free.
At least they came up with a clear version objective.
