Omerta has been resetted once more. But we can't say it was without any troubles.
People have been mass joining #help to complain about not receiving any donation codes.
Donations seem to be working again. Some people who donated via PayPal might have received their DCs via email instead of ingame messages.

Okay clarification. Sorry I was a bit too busy to take that in. Stupid because it is my own design.
This is what happens when you are 'as busy as a dog with two dicks' - as I am at present.
1. I offered news of this as a scoop to Sbanks 2 days ago. Told him all about it.
2. It is still in development but (fingers crossed) mostly done (have not seen it dare not guess)
3. It is a pyramidal rank point based referral scheme which gives:
a. Capos LESS RP from crimes and cars
b. Capos MORE RP from everyone in their regime
c. Everyone who refers other users into the game MORE RP from those referrals
d. And the second tier of referrals, referred by your own referrals
c. And the third tier
d. Not the fourth tier etc.
Why three tiers? Because that can stop the (obvious) dupe value of this gimmick for trying to get more people to play.
At present there is some discussion about how best to try to limit (note I don't say 'prevent' ) cheating. Probably with mobile phone validation and a rank limit (no RP from ES account etc)
BIG FAT BUT
We did not test this stuff yet and it may fail when we test it and not see the light of day. I hope that it does and that it works and that you like it.
Poor Bramble caught in the crossfire. My bad.
But like I said: since the reset she has actually been a bit unwell and should not be working on a PC monitor with here eyes. So forgive her for not following up.
Hope this helps.

Dodging a question 101.
I'll return the ball, what's up with the new feature?
And to be ahead of you, claiming bramble knows and you don't won't work here.

"a. Capos LESS RP from crimes and cars"
"b. Capos MORE RP from everyone in their regime"
1. To clarify here... when you say RP you mean 'rank points' and not 'rank progress' I assume.
meaning a+b will ensure capo's and normal family members will be closer in 'rank points' for the overall game position? meaning these implications influence the current KA...?
A family don also has a regime, however the sotto and cons don't. How will they get affected in overall rank points by this new implementation?
"c. Everyone who refers other users into the game MORE RP from those referrals"
"d. And the second tier of referrals, referred by your own referrals"
"c. And the third tier"
2. I'm sure the whole omerta team has thought about this... but i can't help to see how this can be so easily abused to boost up your main account rank points....
What's stopping anyone from opening dupes in proxy's, 3G, 4G, at work, at friends, etc etc? No matter how many tiers...
Besides the development of this (point c, d and e), imagine how much extra crap this brings for dupe checking, dupe kills (revives) etc etc.... this would require a total remake of the current helpdesk and admins availleble for (actual) help - sorry but the %hop guys in #help are as much help as i can be for someone who has a problem.
Thanks brando, I (and i believe alot of people) appreciate the open discussion.

That's truly all I have time for today. I have been typing so fast that sparks are flying from the KB.
Can I ask you please to consider the proposition.
All talk of €£$200-300 whatever to one side.
It is just about raising:
1. Some.
2. As much as we can get.
So we can do the following:
1. Create 2 - 5 new jobs.
2. Breathe new life into Omerta.
3. Be successful and raise good, honest, hard-working people's wages.
Perhaps you will reflect upon this and my own frankness (I tried) in responding to as much as is written here.
And think...
... Yes I will help.
I hope so.

I think its nice and all, that you spend time, energy and money to make the game better. But there is a logical failure here. There is no way in the seven hell that a kickstarter will generate you 150,000 pounds(or dollars? Since you kinda change between using them...What currency are you actually talking about, brando?) from the playerbase. Considering .com has about 2,500 people acually playing, maybe 1/2 to 1/3 of them are active irc users that actually PLAY this game (I mean not logging in 2-3 times a week to check their lackeys) and manages to rank past soldiers. .NL Got about 1000 people playing, and I guess the active base is about the same ratio as .com. So here you got 2000 to 1500 people that are playing activly and are willing to spend time and money to get to brug and above. 150,000/2,000 = 75 euro/dollar/pund make your pick. If you belive each and everyone of us will donate 75 dollar you are high as a kite.

1. I wish I was high. I am just *busy*
2. This game is my life. I love it. We are 'in a transitional period, design-wise'
3. Indiegogo not Kickstarter I think. They are who I am talking to.
4. Whatever we raise we get 75% given as well by RGF £150k is just the ceiling. Why aim lower?
5. Crowd-funding = free promotion.
6. We have 50k people on Facebook and 2 million real email addresses. There are around 8-10k current players. I think we can do it but we need some help from people here.
7. I would rather that people who love the game bailed in for the price of a couple of DCs and to be honest we will probably offer a couple of DCs as the perk for doing so – so in actual fact we are not really asking for anything except your support!
Redspeert at 00:33:50 on 28/03:
If you are lucky maybe 40-50% of the active players will donate, and then we're talking about amounts from 1 dollar to maybe 30-40 dollar. I expect this kickstarter of yours to generate between 5k to 10k dollar unless some richass finds out he wants to give you some coins.

8. I hope so! That would be awesome!
9. You are probably correct about the price points. We are studing that. It is hard to know what to give away with a f2p game (think about this) and I want to avoid hard perks which give people who can pay a strong advantage. Maybe get your likeness, drawn by Peter Anckorn in the game, maybe write a heist or ten. Maybe join a special dev forum. Tshirts are shitty are they not? Stickers my ass... Maybe an evening on the Piss in Hull with Paul?
10. If we can raise enough money to cover the new dev wages for a month like that it would be cool
But I still need you to back me.
So how about it, Mr Redspeert?

I encouraged people that felt they had been wronged, to complain to paypal for the dc's spent to get cash and buy of of jail constantly the first days.
Our way of saying we were outraged of the major midvers change, and the only way we felt we could actually be heard: Hurt the moneyflow.
-This earned me a ban from forums, and a personal mail from the allmighty Brando, where you said: "Dont encourage people to complain.
I banned you now, but if you dont stop you will receive a lot worse!" I responded to you in a polite manner, about my concerns about being threatened, and you responded:

(Yes, we feel like customers, since we pay for the game, and its not possible to play without "donation"codes. )
To me this qualifies as throwing a tantrum.

I gave a detailed response below. Paypal are *trouble* for sellers. They freeze your cash (and earn interest on it for a whole year).
If I did not act to prevent that action I would not have been able to pay anyone. I try to be a responsible boss.
What would *you* have done, in *my* position?
Magic spells, maybe?
No tantrum - I just banned someone who was threatening our livelihood.
Don't forget:
1. We are mandated to act against cheating.
2. Everyone lost out.
3. No cheats and no action needed - blame the cheats, not us!

And yet .nl has been the redheaded stepchild ever since Massuvio quit.
It doesn't even have an dedicated VM anymore asides from Bramle who knows fuck all about the current state of the game, its playerbase or its longevity.
16 days after the final major war, and 9 days after the final cleanup war .nl crew decided to start a RoM running an entire week.
How on earth can you justify that lack of game insight from your (paid)moderators?
You guys used to say that resets costs players, which you ultimately backed out from.
You know what kills a game?
Boredom.
~20ish days of 'well this is done and over with' prolly lost you more players then resetting or even starting the RoM after the final war would have ever done.
If you claim .nl is that important/popular clean it up.
Get an VM dedicated to that version alone that cares to run it.
You prolly have to pay him/her for doing so but if you dont .nl will implode on itself eventually.
And only a small fraction has shown the willingness to transfer to .com in the past.

The assumption that this was my idea is mistaken. I just presented the move and took care of the forums. I am never 'away' – just busy!
In this case I was quite busy studying crowd-funding, actually – though this plan was not to use this for Omerta, until the RGF money news came last week.

Yeah that was really cruel – if you had succeeded then we would have lost our main revenue stream.
Consider the following:
Paypal are a largely anonymous service and when they have problems with an account they freeze it and sit on its contents for over a year (this has happened to Omerta twice, both times due to Romanian credit card fraud and about 6-7 years ago. They kept our money for a year)
We need paypal to pay everyone's wages.
If you had succeeded with this you would have ensured that the Omerta servers could not have been paid, that we had problems with the bank and that my colleagues and I would not have been paid.
Is that *really* what you wanted to achieve?

I banned you now, but if you dont stop you will receive a lot worse!" I responded to you in a polite manner, about my concerns about being threatened, and you responded:
"Then you clearly have no sence of humour". -Seriously, this is not how you talk your customers, where was it supposed to be funny for me to be banned and threatened?
(Yes, we feel like customers, since we pay for the game, and its not possible to play without "donation"codes. )

1. Granted you had a grievance, but as explained the result of the action you were taking could have left me unable to pay colleagues salaries.
2. Naturally I don't have more than one pair of hands. Answering everyone's comments is almost impossible – therefore bans.
3. We are mandated by the community to combat cheating. Our hand was forced.

The second thing I wanted to take up about that forum thread last version, is how you continued to put the blame on your employees. Like: "
This was not the case. We have made some background management changes to the dev team and one of the first things the new lead wanted to tackle was the problem of jail scripts - which we have apparently known about for 2 versions.
- which is why the changes needed ringing in. And I asked for these punishes before the version was 2 days old - but the person asked was apparently also not quite up to the task.
Hence the wait.".
Whenever there is something wrong, you throw one of your crewmembers under the bus with lame comments like the one I just showed.

You misunderstand – I simply promoted someone very good – Kcode.Nobody got fired at all. Kcode was working very effectively and so we promoted him.
Please think about your mistake understanding this. When you are wrong about this, might you also be wrong by stopping everyone's salaries and ruining the company?

OR when you guys just gave a voucher after the 5hour downtime, where the people with lackys on when the servers went down, basicly gained 5hour ranking on those which didnt.
You said this:
"Yeah that bugs the sh*t out of me. Not the solution I asked for.

Yes – 100% true. I did not ask for this and it was a mistake. I should have been clearer.

I wanted a lackeys strike for 3 hours (same as downtime) or giving lackey credits (worth 3 hours) to everyone who did not use lackeys.

You actually call your crew "mice"?

:D Did you really say that?
It is Robert Burns... I am not 'calling crew 'mice'' – that would be * weird * I am simply....

I hope you understand why we all are extremely sceptical when you suddenly come around and want 200k $ from us, when your trackrecord is, well, horrible.
I do hope you are sincere that you will be getting a new person to run the show, with more experience in dealing with people, because the way you have been handling it
just doesnt work.

Can't you be nice? I am just a person, trying to do my best when actually 'pleasing everyone is unlikely'
Anyway – we don't want $€£200k 300k we are just trying to raise as much as we can to develop the app & promote it too.
And if we can raise £150k we get given £75 k by some fund. I am trying to raise About £70k via Kickstarter or Indiegogo and actually I told Paul that I would put my own f**king house up as security to get the rest, if we need. it.
Anyway. You got a whole bunch of detailed, reasonable responses and a poem from me.
And on a busy busy Friday.
All I ask from you is: be nice, please. :)

I know this is a bit cryptic but you just have to login next week and experience everything yourself."

Maybe the crew should start delivering on their promises first before asking 200k.
Where is the new feature that was promised for this version? I wanna bet my house on it we wont hear from it again.

Nl = remains as popular as .com but I don't see you suggesting that we close .com

I quote from the other anon poster.
I encouraged people that felt they had been wronged, to complain to paypal for the dc's spent to get cash and buy of of jail constantly the first days.
Our way of saying we were outraged of the major midvers change, and the only way we felt we could actually be heard: Hurt the moneyflow.

To me this qualifies as throwing a tantrum.
Kinda fits into the patterns of behavior you displayed over and over again in the past. So I take that guy's summary at face value.

lol the most useless version yet, within the first 48h of reset the game has crashed not once, not twice but three times.
Once again omerta spreads the butt-chicks of manual players and fucks them in the ass. Maybe its part of the admins master plan to get players to only use lackeys 24/7.

May i ask why we are playing then ? why not stop this game for a couple of weeks and fix that part first.

BTW where does this figure of £300k (€300k?) actually come from? We have been offered £75k by the UK govt if we can create some jobs and we need to find £150k to be entitled to that money.
We don't 'need 300k' - just if we can *find 150k* we may *have 75k* - naturally an app can be made for a whole lot less than 75k but we see an opportunity to appoint better personnel for a much smarter long-term plan.

If you are lucky maybe 40-50% of the active players will donate, and then we're talking about amounts from 1 dollar to maybe 30-40 dollar. I expect this kickstarter of yours to generate between 5k to 10k dollar unless some richass finds out he wants to give you some coins.
