Omerta held their breath as there seemed to be a second massive war in the air for the second consecutive day. But all that changed, when the "That family doesn't exist" messages started to be /amsged. Catania was downed.
But no players were involved. It were the admins that killed Catania. By killing 1 GF and 2 CDs they brought down the family in 1 ferocious swoop. Leaving Catania and pretty much the rest of Omerta stunned.

Ari (Top Marazzino): This is not the first time admins having an influence in this game in a bad way, they made several families retire and just added another great one to the list. Its just a shame how this game is operated when its already loosing more players version after version. The arrogance and the attitude is unbearable. Thank you for a great version Catania, you will be missed _O_

They aren't rly on your pc, they're just scanning the ports being used finding out one of em being TV. But like the guy below me said that's not solid proof that person is actually using the TV to get on that specific other persons pc with it ... There's prolly more like monotoring ingame msg and the irc check wheather someone is rly there and in the end find it enough evidence to at least make the assumption they where cheating.

In other words, you don't even need the password. Simply the ID is enough to get the IP address.
Then again, this would only prove that there's an active TeamViewer installation behind that IP address. It's not necessarily proof for account sharing (since there are other reasons why you might use TeamViewer).

If you join a cheating family you get punished...its the same with joining a car where the driver is intoxicated, yes he could drive you home, but you can as easily end up in a coffin too.

I'm not here to judge any Catania (or other fam's) players, tops or not.
Having said that I am going to state that a lot of tops in this game have previously cheated or are still in some way cheating. Simply because of the fact that they (95% of them) are experienced players that have been playing for a while and have come in contact with things, it's just how it works.
Now apart from that...
Simple fact is when you started playing this game, registered your account... You agreed to a rule that states Admins can do whatever they want within the confines of this game at any time and dont have to explain anything to you if they don't want to.
Wether that's fair or not is pretty clear, it's not. But it's what's been happening for a long time already. Catania is not the first and I'm guessing will not be the last that was affected by this rule.
Then...
From what I've been reading it's pretty reasonable to deduct that Admins had been watching the 3 Akilled players for a while both on IRC and Ingame and decided to Akill them after they believed to have reasonable grounds to do so on. Again, pretty unfair as I understand it would rely a great deal on IRC and uptill now all IRC related proof has not been admissable as proof against players cheating, so pretty inconsistent by crew.

our ceasefire was only with cata and it was because of other bloods
in the other wars we shot till end

i'm trying to make an objective comment, not with the view of a family. and i wasn't fide top anytime. and i'm not considering fide in the class of conflict.
gravano lost that respect when they blooded/dealt with jannis/ascension and more fams in the middle of the version, just to stay alive. if you have 6-7 strong bloods+their close bloods, you can direct 10 fams with your strong name. catania had 7 fams to shoot when they were attacked, there would be more fams that will shoot if that war was longer. you don't have to make lots of deal/sellouts with that type of power in your hand.

- They could have done it anytime, yet they purposefully do it on the day when everyone knows there is going to be a war?
- They could have done it during the day, yet they do it at night when they know there is no high admin around to fix things or explain it, so the frozen players are just forced to wait around forever, ruining everyone's plans even more.
- Also when they do it at night, a majority of the players are going to be offline, so IF they think that these 3 players are cheating, why a-kill a whole family at night? Lots of players are going to be offline and famless until they log in, and as everyone knew it was going to be a war day, that set a lot of innocent people up to be killed by random families for money/KS.
And then of course as it has been mentioned several times and I've discussed it at length with people on IRC last night, how do admins even prove that someone is using teamviewer? The most possible way would be to use the server side logs of IRC channels, which would just be privacy invasion, which would explain why they refuse to show the "proof" they have. And as others have stated by now, if they can prove that people use teamviewer, why is there only 3 akilled players/1 akilled fam? Everyone knows that 90% of the spot owners use teamviewer, there is no other way to keep the protection at 100% 24 hours per day.
Overall it seems like an absurd attempt by the admins to affect the game, again.

I agree, fucked up moment to a-kill :) and a bit anti climatic :] maybe they were investigating it through the day and wanted to a-kill them before they made any casualties that needed to be revived after. I don't think that the admins are TRYING to influence the game eventho it does happen at the worst possible moment. On the 90% of spotowners part.. We always text our capo's during the night. But then again.. we are in palermo.. not much shit happens there :D
