Why does this show they have no proof at all? Maybe they could only find proof against these three players. I don't see no reason at all to support your view on this, anyway. Also, if admins have something they consider proof of cheating, there's nothing to be discussed from their point of view - and from the point of view of most omerta players. It has been like this for ages and history just proves those who got akilled are those who manage to shout the most.

It seems admins have been cross-checking IPs/ports used for ranking, IPs/ports used on IRC and users actually present on IRC (by checking the Capo-channel) at several points in time to confirm some suspected information about an IP or port used by tv. Fairly interesting.

So, since everyone has been asking how TeamViewer usage could've been proven, here are some theories:

Teamviewer ID leaked to admins
There could be a lot of scenarios leading to this. Either someone leaked IRC logs to the admin or the admins were actively monitoring IRC or ingame messages for this kind of information (though I do not believe this would be legally permissible).
Given the Teamviewer ID, it would be possible for the admins to find out the IP address of the user (even without connecting and knowing the password, as long as TeamViewer is still running).
They could then check accounts who've been accessed with those IP addresses - aaand busted! :)

Port scanning
I'm not sure about this one, but it might be possible that TeamViewer is listening for connections on a specific port. Admins could then scan those port(s) to check whether TeamViewer is accepting connections.
This would probably only work if the PC is connected directly to the internet without some kind of router and/or firewall in between.


Anyway, I'm still concerned about this and hope they didn't just akill those accounts on a whim. Using TeamViewer is no proof of account sharing. There's no rule against using TeamViewer (or comparable software) and there are a lot of legitimate reason.
People might be using it to bypass their company's proxy which blocks sites like barafranca.com (by connecting to their home PCs through TeamViewer). Or they use it to access Omerta from their phones because Omerta isn't working on the mobile browser (that's the case on one of my old phones, for example).

And then there's the spot owner situation. I claim that it's basically impossible to keep any high-profit spot running for more than, say, 1-2 days without either sharing or scripting (unless you somehow manage to survive without getting any kind of sleep). So there's definitely work to be done in that area.

All people that have a little respect wont shoot at famless people now... We all know who big admins fucked it up... Let the people join familys and let the game continue...

I guess this is where we say goodbye. Regardless of whether anyone beliefs it was justified or not, allow me to explain where we stand.

This afternoon crewmembers started joining and leaving our capo channel. I went to #help myself to ask for an explanation and what they answered it 'we are investigating you, we will not tell you why'.

We were ready to shoot tonight, and would have done it if all of a sudden the don (myself) and our successors got frozen. Yet again I went to #help to ask for an explanation and they answered 'we caught your family abusing teamviewer, we will not show you any proof or discuss it and akill the family'. You saw what happened after that.

The fact that they akill our don and both successors indicates they have no proof at all. The exact moment our family is taken down is questionable as well. The fact that it's not even open for discussion only shows how corrupted and unfair they are and what has become of this game.
