A few days ago Omerta gave us a sneak preview of a new lackey.
What we know is the following: the lackey will be named Hagen, and is already active on the developer server.
The following picture was posted yesterday on Omerta's Facebook as a sneak preview:
A day before that though, on the 19th, Brando has posted a lot of information on his personal Facebook page about this new lackey. You can read it here, but as always, you need a Facebook account to see the page. You can also read the text below.
For those who don't know, the name of this new lackey, Hagen, seems to be directly derived from the book (and movies) The Godfather, where Tom Hagen is the consiglieri of the Corleone family. The name choice seems odd, being that this new lackey will be one which will be managing the other lackeys. For his job, a name like Tessio or Clemenza, the capo's of the Corleone family in the original book, seems more fitting.
Here is what Wikipedia has to say about Tom Hagen's nature:

He is the informally adopted son of Don Vito Corleone and serves as the family lawyer and consigliere (legal advisor). Mild-mannered and soft-spoken, he often serves as a voice of reason within the family.
statements
Hagen is a step-down for the dev team and I, even though he is of my design, he's not my idea - in fact he was suggested by a multitude of players.
Hagen will manage Lackeys, when they get tired - resting them, minding their allotted credits and re-hiring them when they are rested enough to go to work again at a good rate of return for the hiring player.
We did not want to do this because we considered the disadvantage of logging in or *being too tired* perennially, to be something which dupes ought to pucker up and learn to live with.
But during the last couple of weeks Brando spent a lot of time in IRC and Mantis and email, explaining our tiredness rules over and over and over and over and over and over again to players and even to crew.
Lemme explain it here.
Lackeys must be as useful as scripts, but cannot be stronger than manualy ranking.
If they can do b/n 24/7 without penalty then they are stronger than manual play. We can't have that.
So we fixed lackeys to go off work when totally exhausted - rather than carry on working to no effect and making your account catastrophically tired.
Hence the line: ' he needs to sleep a little ' - at the end of long-logging lackeys.
But notalotofpeopleunderstandthat it would seem.
So we are putting in a lackey manager - Hagen - who will, at your behest fire your lackeys when they get tired in order than when you log in again you can manually rank to your heart's content with no penalty.
He is going to be more expensive than the other lackeys.
And the longer you use him for, the more expensive he will be - why?
Because we are money-grabbing SCUMBAGS who hold all players in the deepest of contempt and...
...hang on...
Managing your lackeys is also free.
All you need to do is log in and switch them off - or indeed, not give them too many credits to begin with.
And why is this so?
To piss off people who have more than one account ranking on lackeys.
It won't harm manuals.
It won't harm people who log in every day at least once!
It will just cost The Earth to people who have already decided that they can buy success in Omerta.
Hagen is on dev, awaiting testing. Expect to see him within the next couple of weeks.

Does this mean you can lackey at night, manual during the days and don't get tired?

yw!
don't really see the point of this lackey. should just be an option at b/n lackeys to 'rest when tired' orso. seems like a rip off!
