Omerta is boring and it seems to have bugs, it’s heavily exploited by the same vast majority of the user base who wins together since the game started for the most part. The only active admins I ever noticed told you to create a ticket or silence you due to what they decide what is acceptable and whats not, kind of like their way of a-killing people. This mass pact that plays together will even make fake wars with each other with their dupes and leave unsuspecting tag along members dead and wondering why their tops go to other families. I’m not sure what entertains these people for doing the same thing over and over again without much of an audience to witness their epic wins for going on three decades. A lot of retired people on facebook I kept in touch with say the remaining people are mostly dupes and alliance families who will sell their accounts to the enemy which is mainly the only big bang in a round now. And that’s putting it nicely.

Good for Bramblerose to keep Omerta up, I’m sure she recognizes the same people are around since she came back and notices their co-dependency for this game. Game belongs to the mass alliance that killed longer rounds and those who made the game their life and wouldn’t be to concerned about how its played. You can break the game completely and strip away a lot of mechanics and these people will still log in everyday.

I’d like to give Pentito a try, but the theme of early 20th century organized crime doesn’t seem to appealing to me anymore. Even the italian mafia genre on youtube is falling apart. I remember giving Italian Vendetta a try as they tried to make a spinoff of Omerta a long time ago, and it didn’t survive Omerta.
The man in the attic who made Omerta made a unique game that can’t mimic it’s originality.
Many will say the gay pact and dupe farming killed Omerta and I can understand that, but overall the interest from the early 2000s for text based mmorpgs is from another time, it wouldn’t appeal to the new generations compared to whats out there now. That is why the game is stuck on this pact mentality as older players are only left trying to hold onto a memory. That is what kills Omerta, new generations would come and be active and chat more which made omerta special. Now it’s selling honour and complaining about getting scammed from some main’s dupes. The wars are predictable, to many farm as opposed to playing and there isn’t much incentive to play unless joining the same mass jerk circle for an easy silver star in less than a month.

I didn’t need to vent or try to convince anyone my opinions, but more so to come to a conclusion on my take on it all and more importantly for possibly the Admins of either game to read this and possibly find a better way to invest in their games much quicker opposed to the long expected dates as a run around for needed change to continue on a pace of more popularity and fun within the game.
