What did you expect?
The game has been in comatose state for a good while. Not all of it is Bramble's fault. Overblooding is the other part to place the blame. I have no idea, why people are so willing to lay all the blame a the incompetence of the crew while letting shit fams like Gayvano or Anarchy off the hook that easily. It's been repeated over and over and over again. It'S up to the fams to create a competitive enviroment for the bigger benefit, instead of cashing in version after version after version with 10 fams being up at the end of a version.
In addition it's a summer version, which traditionally attracts even less players.

The worst version ever, only about 10 to 15 fams that can do some real damage to eachother, and if u think the bloodships that will happen between those active fams, it leaves only 7 to 8 active fams to kill.

Here are some statistical info about the existing fams which i gathered from beyond. ( didnt count this round.)
My comments about these stats which are below ;
Righelli is the most aggressive fam depending on their ratio ( 5 wars for per version they have started.)
Marazzino is also another fighter fam (103 wars ) also started up in 24 versions with the same name _o_
Gambino, Provenzano, Trafficante also had started up in many versions (19, 21, 23) but their war amounts are too less. ( huggers ? )
Persico, Lusa, Aeterna also have good ratios about involving wars depending on their short past. If they keep going on with the same names, they will pass many older fams in a couple of versions later.

I could not start my family up this round as half of my members were missing to summer activities. I don't know if that means omerta is done or not. Sometimes I am amazed at how many people return to the game at one time. However, if I ever stopped playing for a round, I would probably be done for good.

I talked months ago in #help and asked if they were going to implement the dm rule with the max bullets that can be shot with each rank. Their answer was that no game changes will be made in version v4, so we have to waite until v5 before any ingame change will be made. Ofcourse they couldn't tell me when v5 would come.
I don't like the new dm layout but the max bullet limit that can be shot is a big plus of dm, it makes no sense that everyone under chief can be killed easily with 60k bullets by everyone (#1000, 4% ontime doesn't matter 60k and bit bodyguards trained attack and your dead).
If v5 will come eventually i really hope that this max bullets will be implemented on .com also.
