UPDATE!

The module is unloaded again.

For the people saying the admins could do this allready were wrong, in the past they could, Omerta version 2.1 / 2.2, it got removed after, as it's removed yet again.

==============

Last night admins loaded a new module onto the IRC server of barafranca.

So what does this module? It allows omerta / irc admins to make him or herself invisible and join a channel so "spy"

My personal plus points;

- to catch scripters (well.. most scripts have a own irc server)

My personal downsides;

- they should stay out private channels, otherwise it was a public channel
- they can leak stuff?

My personal conclusion;

Timewaste, quite a useless module!

—irc.barafranca.com— *** m_invisible.so has just been loaded on this network. For more information, please visit http://inspircd.org/wiki/Modules/invisible

w00t (Omerta irc admin):

It has since been unloaded. I wasn't around at the time, nor have I asked into it, but I assume it was related to some other stuff we were testing at the time (SSL, etc)

You can check things like this yourself via /modules. If you're curious as to what something does, look it up on the InspIRCd wiki, or send me an ingame or something (Calis). I'm one of the developers for InspIRCd as well as working on Omerta, so I don't mind answering the occasional question.
