When Calamari and Suspicio's plans to take down Samagono (for their object, Chicago Blackjack), leaked, Samagono decided to strike first and do as much damage as possible.
They succeeded in that objective, taking down Calamari. However it wasn't enough to survive the war, and so Samagono was taken down as well.

Eagle (Suspicio top): The war was about the Chicago BJ, pure and simple. Suspicio has kept an eye on it for awhile, and Cal/Evo jumped in during the early war planning. Our goal was to minimize casualties, but when the news leaked, Samagono put up a good fight with what they had online. Respect fellas o/
Dellamorte (Samagono top): Well when you know for sure when someone's detectives are on you, you can choose: just die or try to survive at any way.
The way we chose was harder. To bring down calamari-evolution-suspicio. Too bad, we only had 3 cd's online, and no brugs. Anyway, all the non-capo members in calamari, evolution and suspicio were found with detectives. Well we probably couldn't bring down suspicio - too little time, but well evo can call them luckies - we needed 2 more minutes and they were down too :D
Whatever, we did not die in beds, as it should happen due to those fams plan :D So, we weren't shooting because we wanted to die. We were shooting because we wanted to live!
