timer runs out, if the family who started the timer still has control of the city before it ends it'll activate resetfun, they add the family etc to the wiki and after a few days of resetfun it goes to a splashpage until preregistration opens for the next one, most of it done automatically with the newsposts etc posted manually

I understand that, but to let useless fans keep starting up in the city they want control of is dumb. Meanwhile make relationships with other fams to not get shot is also going on. The goal is to take control and hold on to the #1 strength(that’s the hardest part) to not make friends with everyone in the whole game is also a challenge.
