Apart from a couple mediocre vouchers and a free famlvl the next version there is little to no reason not to pact.
Sure, there is the whole prestige thing blabla but that only really even is talked about on sites like OBN.
Doubt a HoF entry has ever been the reason for a pact-backstab either.
Brando once promised into looking for actual RL rewards for winning a version such as Ipads and other stuff that MIGHT motivate people to take a different route.
Now its debatable if that would even have an impact but the current system surely doesn't, and i doubt any other ingame 'benefit' will either.
we're working in bringing back the individual objectives for families of being proud that they won versions with complete dominance instead of the massive amount of blooded families that get together to close the version as fast as they can.

You can only call yourself winner if you emerge victorious in a constest. In my eyes there was no real contest except the righ+ incident, that was the only war where both sides were pretty even, it could have been either way.
So i would say Vaffan got the win handed through their smart play.

Congratz to Vaffanculo for taking us down at a right moment. We were still recovering from four subsequent wars in which we lost many of our main shooters and basically all our bullets. Still our bloods and other families managed to give Vaffanculo a decent counter. Thanks for that!
Under these circumstances this war was inevitable. In these times it is for a family strategically the best to wait as long as possible to make a move. We, however, knew we didn’t have that time because of a possible (certain) attack on either us and/or our bloods. And it’s not our mentality to wait for that.
That gives me the opportunity to jump into the discussion about pact forming a little. Ofcourse we as Catania sided with some families. Not with the idea of forming a pact, but to cooperate in getting a group of families down. Some of these families were our bloods; some weren’t. But all with a common goal, which in our case was to get Gravano and its bloods down because they were the biggest threat at that time. And with the amount (and strength) of families they had it was impossible to do that with only a few families.
For the same reason Vaffanculo gathered some families around them in order to get us and our bloods down. Nothing bad about that. It’s all about tactics.
“Where two parties are fighting over something, the third party takes it all”. Or like they say in Holland: ‘The laughing third’.
Thanks Catanians for a fun week of shooting. We, ofcourse, will be back.
