For me there's a huge difference between Marangello and Vaffanculo. The players might be exactly the same now, the mentality in the game might be exactly the same now and the connections they have might be exactly the same now. This pretty much makes them the same huh. Yet for me there's one big difference, the name!
When I think of Marangello I think of when I entered this game, they were #1 and there were talks on the chat of what "they" did and how much kills their Don had. I instantly looked up to them and they got my respect. That's my main view on Marangello. My view on Vaffanculo is totally different, it makes me think of Fatoslocos who might have been the family which got a-killed by the admins the most of all families in omerta history. After that Fatoslocos period Vaffanculo got back again and that reminded me of some vague family in the past that wasn't very big back then, so no real associations yet. Therefore I kinda continued my "Fatos" view on them.
All in all, associations you have with a certain name can create quite a different view, even though it might not be a realistic view. So a first view on something can be rather important. It's why I think Vincitori is so often associated with Affinitas, most people simply think of Affinitas whenever Vincitori gets in their mind!

Might be true Sollid. But you got to realize that if a majority in the game consider Marangello to be exactly the same as Vaffanculo. There might not be a difference (atleast not to the majority, and that would mean Marangello should consider Vaffan "haters" enemies, and if they do that, well then they are kinda Vaffanculo also. Catch my drift?). I realize some don't view marangello and vaffan as the same, though. But fact remains, if the view on them, by a large majority in the game, is that they are Vaffanculo, then they "will be" Vaffanculo to some extend. I guess its some kind of weird omerta habitus :p
Anyway I do not care too much about who they are. But the comparison made with Bru and Krays is far from the same. I know that was not you btw :) I just dont want to make to many threads..
But this isn't really anyones problem I guess. Except perhaps Marangello, but why would they honestly care about what people think they are or who? I don't, I bet most people in here would argue they do not, so why would they (care about what other ppl think of them)?

Just like CCCE one of the best alliance ever gave us the most entertainment but still got flamed. Then we had trafficante, shot every week made ppl laugh and gave us so muuuccchhhh action and still got flamed......oke that last one was a joke :'D

Idiots? Who is the idiot exactly? Any decent family in this game, would rather go down like Righ and Cog than like all lord pussy fams still alive. Suiciding for your blood or cause you want to change the state of the game, by shooting a power house. Nothing but respect.
Hugging, trying desperately to convince ppl your fam shot alot this round etc etc, while your top3 is still alive is pure patos.
And im neither Righelli nor Cogere - however they are about the only fams left with balls. Except the excepitional new power house "Stodder1337" _o_

They are in top 20 because of only 1 reason which is doing nothing of any importance to the game. Maybe I m wrong about 2/3 fams, and ofc some ppl complain about not being worthless as I suggested, and they have the right too. These are mainly fams who get all excited when some lc or chief of them gets shot (in non-war period), and start treatning the shooter fam, but in fact they are 0.
ANd about Righelli, well yeah for this version I would add them as well to this list. But normal days they are more active in wars than the average fam and I have the idea that they dont have to many serious opportunities to do something without getting shot by 10 other fams in counter attack. These fams above are just known for their constant boring gameplay. That is the difference with righelli or liberta and the list of fams I made above.
But again, they are the fams who fit well to this game atm since shooting is not very interesting when defending is a better chance to stay alive in the end.

What a lame version this is!!
First of all admins changed the games KA and the founding possibilities to do what exactly? Oh yes keep the game going while at the same time exploiting all the dumbass' willing to buy DC's and support these changes.
Second and this is nothing new but alliances' - get real and do your own thing - alliances of fams big enough to stand alone, yet for some reason they still team up with 5 other fams.
Oh, enough with the counting...:p

Constant whining about who is emo kids and who is like really badass. Fact is none of us in here are the least bit badass. You play Omerta - says it all.
The problem with this game is you guys, the active users. I realize alot like hugging etc and it makes for a shitty game. But none the less it is what it has evolved to - Shit!
No one will ever win this version, and if so its gonna be top20 fams. Bloodlines all tangled up and everyone is scared of what might be said next version, should that ever happen...
If there were any sense left in omerta, ppl who actually use FB to discuss, would start boycotting and force admins to make the proper changes. At least there you have the oppportunity to influence a larger group.
The problem whoever always stays the same. To many dont think, they are not willing to do what it takes to make the proper changes, they are afraid to have a mind of their own, hence the major alliances and the amount of lackey accounts.
Ps. I realize that going alliance style is completely up to the individual family and top. But its kinda the same as being gay, it's completely ok that this or that person is gay, does the gay thing etc. But you are still gay... xDD

May I suggest you use a local gym (usually they are the cheapest) and while there perhaps some lackeys or a script so you dont loose rp..

Very true Johnson, some will surely view them as the same. In most ways they probably are the same :) That's the fun stuff about families sometimes though, if there's a history there are different kinds of views on them. The comparison with Bruinsma and Krays is incorrect indeed. Doesn't come close even :P
