After having shot Delatore moments earlier, to get their hands on the Corleone bulletfactory, Vitale ends up on the wrong side of a war themselves, when an attack led by Memento tears them apart, but being able to get several backfire kills.

It all started when Delatore gained control of Corleone's BF. This was originally Calogero (a close blood of both Memento and Samagono). But after Vitale had shot the family for it, tops from the other side came to ask it back. This request was - reportedly - replied by rudeness and disrespect by Vitale's tops, who felt they deserved the bulletfactory now, after having spent their bullets, and risked their lives, shooting for it.

As we have seen in the past, when tops behave like this, bullets fly. And so it came to be that Memento and Samagono, and probably with the aid of some other families, are shooting Vitale at the moment.

Some say this is the defining moment in the version - others say this could be the downfall of the Memento and Samagono powerhouse controlling the version after they killed Profaci.

It proves to be worth the gamble however, as Vitale eventually gives up and is taken down, out of members and bullets, against an overwhelming force.
