After the game got pretty much locked up with the 15 families left and no more action. Only action there was, was the shooting of new families.
The players started to ask for a reset, it took a while but today Admins finally announced reset.

There will be one.
Despite there still being 15 families in the game, with over 2000 members, they all like eachother too much to compete and rather be friends. Conflict zones the world over and the human race in general would greatly benefit from such pacifism and look on in awe. If only world leaders all played Omerta, world peace would be within our grasp.
It does not make for a very good game however, so we will reset the game to version 2.8 so everybody can start from scratch again.
This reset will be very different from previous resets: (unless you have been with us long enough to remember the reset to version 2.1)
From this announcement until late afternoon on Friday (April 25) you will have the final chance to run wild in this version, also known as the traditional killing spree.
You will not get any freebies however. More bullets will be produced and you can buy more at once, but no free money, bullets and rank will be handed out. There will be no revives. Instead, it is up to you to make a final mark on the game with your current account. Perhaps you can be the Last Man Standing and produce an actual winner of the version?
You can still register a new account in this period, but since there won't be an automatic promotion your impact in the killing will be rather limited.
Late afternoon on Friday, April 25, the killing spree will end and the game will go offline. Completely. It will stay down until Tuesday, May 6. On that day at around 12.00 Omerta Time, version 2.8 will launch and we will welcome you all back.
While the game is down you can preregister for version 2.8.
If you simply can't do without Omerta for so long, we recommend trying some of our other versions, like the faster paced Deathmatch (deathmatch.barafranca.com ), or you can try a localized version (we have Dutch, Turkish, Portuguese/Brazilian, German, French and Nordic versions).
In those versions you can also try out some of the changes that will be in 2.8 (Mainly the changed casinos). Even more changes are planned for 2.8, but we need time to finish them. This is one of the reasons why the game will be offline. More information about 2.8 will follow in an email as the launch approaches.
For now: enjoy the killing spree. May it be bloody, and may it shatter the peace.
